My Spleen? Or stupid contractions?
I am waiting for my doctor to call me back.
Now since I had my son, 18 months ago. My spleen has been swelling and de-swelling due to ulcers near it.
Now I am having this horrid freaking pain, and it's in one damn spot! WHERE MY SPLEEN IS! It's pretty damn constant and wont stop. And now that I think of it, this could have been what is jsut causing me problems the last week.
Now I've never actually felt contractions before my water breaks. But this is nothing like a damn labor contraction. And my uterus is no where near where this pain is.
Just need some opinions. I litterally feel like I am going to die with how much this is starting to hurt. It's eve causing pain when I need to pee, my kidney's don't really hurt so I don't think it's a kidney infections, and my urine is as clear as water.. so no uti!
i'm more rambling and venting, just need some opinions here ladies...please help!

Rosa - Don't worry what so ever about complaining! You have every right to, with how uncomfortable you have been and the ongoing in and out of contractions! Hehehe!

They are getting ready for me to go into surgery now! Waiting for me to finish typing! I should be back in 2 or so hours. Is what they said. Keep your prayers for me!
I'll try to update as soon as possible when out, I may have my hubby type something for me, so if it's not a lot and not really saying anything but i'm ok thats why!

ohhh hunny i am soo sorry you are going through this!! I feel so bad for complaining last night about wanting my pregnancy to be over and here you are having this trouble..i guess i should be thankful my spleen is ok nad nothing like that is in jeprody!! I hope you feel better soon..and i hope you get to eat soon!! This really *****!! I guess i wont complain anymore hun!! :) ( knock on wood for me)lol...i dont wanna have just jinxed myself! haha
haha they wont let me eat because i'm having surgery in an hour and a half, but yeah didn't eat all yesterday.....oh i am so splurging when I can eat!
Wow ashie I was going to say I'd come out and help get you some food lol I'll beat up the hospital staff or something but then I realized you were in WA heh I wouldn't be there til like a week after you got out lol... I tried!!
They tell me i'm getting all the nutrients I need from the IV....I'd have to disagree! It's not stopping my stomach from growling away! AHAHA! I think i'm coming off as a bigger b!tch to the nurses....lol But I'M HUNGRY! Starving a pregnant person, wtf!

Complain away, hon!! I know how much it ***** when they won't let you eat! I had to fast for my 3 hr glucose test ...I hadn't eaten since about 8 or 9 pm the night before ...then wasn't able to eat again until my last blood draw (which was close to noon the next day!). I felt soooo cruddy!!
Hopefully they can get the procedure done quickly and give you something light to eat at first. Then, when you're up to it, you can have hubby get you the most fabulous meal on the planet! =D
BTW ~ Totally know how you feel about having hubby there to reassure you. I'm the same way ...and my hubby is always worried about something happening to me. I try to tell him not to worry, that things will be okay ...but he just can't help it. <3

Thanks! I believe i'm likely getting it, I just want my dh to reassure me that it's for the better because he is freaking about losing me! I hate hospitals. I am so hungry and they wont even let me eat jello!!!!!! UGH!

I think that the longer your little one can 'cook' in there, the better. I would definitely go with the cerclage ...better than going into labor *too* early because your spleen is acting up! And it will be easier for your doctor to monitor the cerclage when you come to visit. =D

I have a decision to make. I told my doctor I needed to talk to DH and medhelp, lol.... He looked at me funny and said ok, he'll be back in 2 hours.
He wants me to go ahead and get to cerclage just to keep me from dialating! Ultimately, whenever my water breaks is when I am going to go into labor, but he doesn't want my spleen to cause me to go even earlier. He actually called my husband and told him when they were on their way, so now i'm not getting food....They want to get me in asap, and that would be 2 hours from now. Well, actually 1 pm my time, so a little over 2 hours.
That way I can still go home tomorrow, and recover here. Just wondering what you ladies think

The sad thing is, in about a week and half we're moving. So bummer I actually have to pack until then, BOOOO but then I get to have tons of fun in a new house!!! So i'll be busy paint, and organizing everyones rooms! I'll have some fun I suppose!
And it's still not that much time left, I'm still not expected to go past March 8...My doctor wants to stick to the Feb 22 to Mar 8....But we're fearing the earlier coming before Feb 22.... I'm hoping I can atleast make it till then without needing surgery!

I am sorry your in the hopsital~ But at least they found out what was going on in time! Also it is a good thing they know why you were dilating! Being on house arrest does not sound like fun though! At least you'll have plenty of time (too much) to prepare for baby's arrival! Hope you feel better and keep us updated~ Hugs~

My ob popped in and informed me that this would be making me get an u/s weekly. To check everything! baby, cervix and spleen and if the spleen measures out larger, I have to get MRI's... ugh...
Basically when I go home, i'm going to be confined to my house. My husband is cleaning the cr ap out of everything to day! Spray lysol everywhere to get rid of germs. I wont be aloud to go anywhere except straight to the doctors and what not, and I get to wear those fun masks to cover my face so I don't get sick. I'm going to look funny lol...
Gosh, I am so hungry! I didn't eat all day yesterday because of this, I wasn't hungry and when I ate a piece of bread I felt like I was so full I could hurl.
This will mark 2 surgeries I need after this baby is born. Good thing the baby will be in the hospital, lol.... cr ap..

Wow, good thing you didn't waste anytime on getting in touch with your doctor and glad to hear everything seems to be okay for now. Keep us posted okay - I am thinking about you two!!!
Oh Ash!!! I'm glad you got to the hospital in time, but it totally stinks that you had to go!! It's good that they discovered your spleen was being 'pushy' on your uterus ...hopefully by keeping that in check, you'll stop dilating and be able to carry yer little one longer! =D

I am in the hospital. Like 10 minutes after I posted this last night, my doctor called and told me to get my butt in because we weren't sure if I needed to go to the ER or the ob/gyn...
Well, my spleen almost ruptured last night. FUN! I wasn't having any contractions!
Last night they took a chunk of my spleen for a biopsy, and now I get this wonderful news that if I had waited any longer, either I or baby or BOTH could have died. So their pumping me with antibiotics and a anti-inflammitory that i'm not allergic to, that is only used in hospitals, to shrink the spleen! I then have to get every immunization I can get to not get sick. Flu, pneumonia, all those stinking wonderful ones that kids get to. BLAH!
We did however find out that is what is causing me to dialate!! So I guess I got some good news out of it. They said my spleen is so big that it's putting a lot of pressure on my uterus, and cause contractions to dialate. So they went ahead with the lung development shots for baby. Get the next one tonight. And I can go home tomorrow.
I If I happen to get sick, or need to have surgery immediately, I have to deliver so I may be going even earlier then I thought! Hoping that doesn't happen!

They gave me medicine to sleep last night, since I was in so much pain I couldn't sit or lay through anything they were needing me to do, so I think I got the best night of sleep I could!! My husband isn't very happy though. I don't blame him! Neither one of us like the hospital or like my chances of this dang thing rupturing.
He brought me my computer this morning, and it had a very sweet note on it! =) And he brought me flowers, and I can't honestly remember the last time he brought me some!! (brownie points)

Hi, sorry you're feeling bad. Pain like you're describing is not good. If you think this is not pregnancy related go see your doctor. Unbearable pain (and this sounds pretty close to it) is not normal. Just becuase you're pregnant doesn't mean other things can't be happening.

Did your doctor call you back yet? Sounds like the pressure of baby and uterus is aggrivating the ulcers/spleen! A contraction will feel like a tightening, not just pain! If you place your hand on your belly when you feel the pain and if feels like your belly is hard as a rock, then you're having a contraction.
Also, if you ARE having contractions, it could also be causing the spleen pain from the tightening.
