Just wanted to Say it's really amazing and encouraging to read all your experiences! my first ended in an emergency c section... Wasn't a nice experience at all. This time I'm pretty optimistic that things will run differently this time. I'm going for a vbac. Really hope for a water birth, but don't know if they'll let me, because of the c section. But I want a natural birth without any medication more than anything... And reading your experiences motivates me even more :) wish you all the best and God bless ♡

I did. It was incredible. The most empowering experience of my life. Just for fun, the whole story.
My water broke on my due date at 10AM. Contractions started within the hour. I labored at home with my bf until early afternoon then took a trip to my midwives' office to confirm my amniotic sac had fully ruptured. They said yes and that I'd be a while but should call when things got serious. Back home. My mom came by about 4:00 and helped me breathe more effectively through my contractions, gave my bf a break so he could go pack our bags and rest for a while. About 10:30 that night contractions were about 4-5 minutes apart and we headed to the birthing center. After being admitted I was still breathing through okay but was very happy to get into the nice warm birthing tub. Hung out there for an hour or maybe 90 minutes before having serious temperature fluctuations - all of a sudden I was freezing cold and wanted to get out. Breathe breathe breathe. My mom was talking me through it but was banished to a corner of the room. Talk to me, don't touch me. My midwife did perineal massage with oil for what seemed like forever until I hit transition and freaked at anyone touching me. Breathe breathe breathe push push push for like three hours. It was so hard. I was so tired. I'd been awake for nearly 20 hours. I asked if I could give up and take a nap and start over in the morning. Nope, keep going. Breathe breathe breathe. I asked when it would be over and my midwife said "if you really wanted to you would be done by now" and I realized that it was ME who had to make it happen. Push push push - more seriously this time. Breathing through it. Knowing he was so close. Holding my bf's hand, having him tell me what he could see (all that hair! He's right there, you can do this!) And knowing it would be all over soon. Finally he arrived at 7:01AM and the rush of oxytocin and adrenaline from that final push was enough that I was laughing and crying and holding my brand new 9lb baby boy to my naked chest and it didn't hurt at all anymore (until later of course). No tearing, no cutting, no needles, no fluids, no meds. I felt so strong. So exhausted but so amazingly powerful. Three days later I was excited for the day I'd get to do it all again. Worth every minute. I didn't miss out on any of it by being all drugged out and I'm so grateful to have had the support team to stand by and be there while I did it all by myself. Absolutely amazing.

I've had 3 completely natural births so far,  and hopefully the 4th will be the same.  Obviously it's not easy lol but it's doable. I just kept it in the back of my mind that labor only lasts one day and it will all be worth it in the end.  As soon the the baby was out,  magic,  the pain is completely gone.
