I was on the Depo shot for 3 years and I had my last shot October of 2007 and my period didn't start until June of 08.  Then these last couple of months my periods have been extremely out of wack.  Before they were normal 28 day cycles with O on CD14, then in November my period was 2 weeks late, then I was to get AF on 12-22 and it didn't come until 1-4..so it may take up to a full year to actually regulate.  All I have been doing is keeping track (in a journal or something) of when AF starts and the cycle day lenght.  I would also suggest recording your CM too, that has been helping me and DH figure as to when the "best" days are to BD.  We've been trying to about 5-6 months I think?

with depron it can take months for things to regulate. i was on depro for 4yrs & had last injection in march. it took 6months for auntflo to regulate. i would strongly advise to monitor cycles & to check each month that u do ov, by doing opk.
me & my husband have been ttc since i stopped depro & are still tryin now

YOU SHOULD START CHARTING YOUR FERTILITY TO FIND OUT WHEN YOU OVULATE TYPICALLY IT IS 14 DAYS AFTER FIRST DAY OF PERIOD. BUT CHARTING IS A GOOD TOOL. SIDE NOTE DEPO SUX AT TRYING TO CONCIEVE AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN OFF OF IT. I WAS ON IT FOR 8 MONTHS AND COULD NOT GET PREGNANTE FOR A YEAR NOT TO DISCOURAGE YA JUST KEEP TRYING AND GOOD LUCK.

If your last period was the 25th december then yes you would be ovulating around the 7th jan, what joy means is have sex cycle day 11, meaning your first day of your period is cycle day 1 and so on,however many women do not ovulate same time every month so i would suggest ovulation tests, and maybe bbt get to know your cycle.best of luck.

TKM- I'm not really sure about any positions helping your chances. So long as he ejaculates it doesn't really matter what position. Some people believe certain positions might get you a boy or girl but I think those are old wives tales. My suggestions- start having sex on the 11th day after the first day of your period. Continue having sex every day or every other day until the 20th day of your cycle. Granted there is only one day a month to conceive, you'll at least cover your bases if you ovulate late that cycle.

Also, take a prenatal and drink plenty of water. If you drink or smoke, stop. Eat a lot of fruits and veggies.

I got your note. First, it might take time to regulate your period after coming off of birth control. So it might be difficult to pinpoint when you ovulate. A good indication of ovulation is EWCM (egg white cervical mucous). Gross, I know, but this got me pregnant 3 out of 4 times.

When you ovulate the cervix softens to allow sperm through. The result of that softening is a discharge. You may notice it when you use the restroom. When you wipe there will be a discharge that resembles raw egg whites. This means you're fertile and you should have sex to try to conceive.

That is the most simplest way I can help you in your TTC journey.

Keep track of your cycles (how long they are) and on cycle day 10 trying using ovulation predictor sticks. Keep using them until you get your positive (you should get 2 positives in a row). When you get your first positive ovulation stick, that is the time to start having intercourse. To cover your bases, have intercourse the two + days, then the day after.
If you don't fall p/g the first time, you then know about the days you ovulate for the next cycle and keep monitoring with the sticks.

Don't worry if you don't get p/g right away as it takes a bit to concieve. If you are unable to get p/g after a year, you need to see a doc.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!!

Good Luck!!

TKM- that is only true if you have a 28-day cycle.

lookup- you need to figure out how long your cycles are. A cycle is the first day of your period all the way to the day before your next period begins. My cycles are 32 days but the average is 28 days.

Your cycle is based on hormonal changes in your body. You will not always ovulate on the same day, especially if you have irregular periods. But the rule is that you will always get your period 14 days AFTER ovulation, not the other way around.

Check out this cool article. It's very easy to understand:
http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Pregnancy/Menstrual-Cycle-EXPLAINED-by-a-doc/show/515?cid=98

Here are some things that stand out to me in the article, which was written by a medical doctor:
-The menstrual period is always exactly 14 days after ovulation.  The time from period end to ovulation is variable.
-A woman is most likely to get pregnant on the three days preceding or the day of ovulation.

So basically you need to find out your "fertile window". Sweetangel gave you a great idea, check out fertilityfriend. Let me know if you have other questions.

well if ur cylce lsts 28 days u would normally ovulate 14 dyas after and that would b the best time for u to concieve. (its 14 days from the 1st day of your last period). for e.g. the day i started my lst period was 25th dec and i would be ovulating  about 7th jan 09. that would b the best time for me to concieve. i hope this helps. some women are different tho depending on the length of there cylce. but  i find it easier to find out when im ovulationg with the ovulation kits, maybe you should try those. you can get them on ebay  cheap.  gd luck!
