Neg blood test but 2 pos urine??

Hey everyone,

Would appreciate any opinion. I did a hpt the other day and got a faint positive, went to dr to do a blood test, the lab tech said it takes 2-3 hours to process the blood and get a result....50 mins later I get told it's negative. My period is now 8 days late. what are the chances that the blood test was wrong?

oh sorry,try again with fmu. But u should have got a faint one. You will get your bfp,don't stress!

neg result but i had just had a drink and my husband was getting all fidgety, not wanting to wait. i got 2 so will try again with FMU

Yes do it first thing in the morning, Mine showed was Pregmant in the morning and not in the everning!! Best Luck xx

Oh my doc does number tests?? But I live in England...
They tested my HCG level because I already had a STRONG pos test....
Some docs are different I guess

I got a neg blood test the same day I got my first faint BFP, I'm now 20 weeks today...I've read tons of times that the blood tests are about as accurate as the medium sensitivity HPTs unless they did a beta and got your numbers. From my understanding most DRs don't order a numbers test unless they need to, so they only do the yes no blood test. Good luck!

Take the test with first morning urine! Or dont go for a wee for ages! :) I took my test about 5 in the evening but I brought it at like 3. LOL....
And it came out dark! So if you're getting it now, either wait untill the morning or, hold in your wee for a bit :)

My Dr said that the hcg level they test for is 2, so if it's neg then it's neg. personally i'm of the opinion that the lab made a mistake if my urine tests came pos. will let u know.

labs can make mistakes.Nothing is 100% accurate. I say take more tests and see what happens. If they continue to show positive then you are most likely prego.The first urine test i took a day before my missed af was faint so were the next two,but the last two i took 3 days after my missed af were dark.so your hcg levels could have been too low.

Take it with first morning urine Because there is more HCG! And can be very accurate! :)

She told me on Monday to go back in 10 days if i still don't have a period. i'm not patient, my hubby just called to confirm that he found the tests i was after so he will be home in and hour or so and will take a test then x

A positive is still a positive no matter how faint or strong the little line is!!
I would go back to the Doctors and say Im still getting positive urine tests, It's rare to get so many faint positives whereas my blood was neg, Please can I have another blood test!

When I was pg with my son, i was 5 almost 6 weeks gone before i got a faint positive on my hpt, i don't think i produce alot of hcg in the beginning of my pregnancies. When I had a miscarriage before that I didn't show positive till I was over 6 weeks but seriously, what are the chances of the lab making a mistake? I don't have any nausea but I never do, only slight weight gain, brown aerolas, an increased appetite.

hi there i took the same test the other day went to the doctors today and the doctor confirmed that i was preg.

Thanks for your opinion. My husband is gonna grab me a 2 pack of the pg tests that u can take 4 days before a missed period, so hopefully it will be more accurate. Will post results later.

i'd say go get another one as sometimes it could have went wrong.. You'd never know.. Best wishes and hope you get the answer you want xx
