Negative HPT and implantation bleeding

I had sex with my husband during my predicted ovulation time, as well as throughout the past month. My period is usually on a 30-32 day cycle. I had period-like cramps for about a week, but no period. On day 36 (yesterday), I took a HPT. Negative. Last night I began spotting very faintly (a couple of red drops that only showed up when I wiped, and today there was a little bit of pink blood when I wiped. It doesn't seem like a normal period, b/c normally my period is quite heavy the first day. I also don't have cramps anymore. Could this be implantation bleeding, and I took the test a little too early to show a positive result? Could I be pregnant?

Thanks for your responses. My period ended up starting normally last night...guess it just got off to a slow start! Not my time for a baby yet I guess...

yes you could and your hpt test will not come out positive your best
bet on finding out is to go ask your doctor for a blood preg test

If it was implantation spotting then it would be too early to show positive on a hpt. Wait 2-3 more days and then test again if your period doesn't show by then. Good luck!
