No period in 3 months

About 3 1/2 months ago I went off my birth control pills and my period continued for another 2 weeks (after already having it for 1 week prior). I went to the doctor on she said that I had a small cyst, but it was because I went off my pills. My period stopped a day or two after I went to see my doctor, but now I haven't had my period for 3 months. However, this morning I woke up and thought I started my period, but by tonight there is no sign of it. The period that I thought I was having was both red and brown and no very much at all. I don't think I'm pregnant because I've taken a test about every other week because of the missed periods. But I'm very nervous that the cyst the doctor found may be more serious than she actually let on.

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate them! To mrsprincince052519, I think your right, I do need to get a second opinion. I'm going to call and make an appointment today. And to littlelady2010, the doctor told me (and now I'm starting to question it) that the reason I have a small cyst is due to my going off the pills. Apparently it made a cyst because my ovaries are recovering from being on the pills and that it was totally normal. I am a little nervous though, because I had intercourse and then the next day (yesterday) was when I thought I started my period. But like I said, I haven't seen any sign of it since about yesterday afternoon. And it was only a little red, but mostly brown. Ok, I am officially SCARED.

I never had cysts before taking the bc, then I went on it for a year and decided to come off, then that's when I started getting cysts, I believe the bc pills actually caused the cysts, they grew and then decreased in size all the time. Small cysts are not usually a problem, but they can be if they start to grow. But I believe they do cause more problems then doctors say they will. I found my periods were very irregular when I had them. I never had problems before taking the pill, I had a regular cycle with no cysts. NO doctor will admit it, but I think these pills cause a lot of problems, including cysts and irregular periods. If the cyst grows they will give meds or remove it with surgery, but if its small they won't do anything. Please if you notice sharp pains that come and go, get an ultrasound right away, or if you have a extremely bad popping sensation. This could mean the cyst is growing or could have popped(cysts are usally removed before they pop because they cause pain as they grow). A burst cyst can cause infection and damage to the uterus, resulting in infertility. So please do have it monitored. Also I did have pain with intercourse when the cysts were growing, so watch out for that. It will take time for your cycles to become regular again, but if you continue to have problems, see another doctor. Best of luck, and keep an eye out for any problems. I hope things get better!

Hi:-) I think the irregularity of your period is due to you coming off the BC pill. The cyst however is what worries me. I would definitely get a 2nd opinion. It wouldn't hurt.
