OT- Milk after formula?

Need some advice. Brady has been on soy formula the last couple months and I'm wondering what I switch him to after he's done with formula.
Do I just go to soy milk? I had to take dairy out of my diet because he was colicky when I was on it. Since he's been on solid foods, I give him small amounts of yogurt or cheese and he's fine. I've tried giving him regular formula or even mixing it with his soy formula but he won't take it! LOL (it's so much different). So I'm not sure if I can give him homo milk. I guess I could try when it's time.
Also....when did everyone stop with the formula?

If he's tolerating dairy products chances are good he'll be ok with regular milk.  If you notice ANY of the symptoms as before just immediately stop the regular milk and switch to lactaid or soy milk for another while before trying again!  Now, keep in mind you WILL have digestive issues when you introduce milk.  I've gone through with all of mine...nasty poop and gas but as I increase the milk it begins to subside.  It takes their systems a little while to adjust to digesting the milk.

Thank you! Yes, that's a good idea. I'm going to try that. I'm not sure if it really is lactose intolerance. Before the soy, I had him on lactose free formula but he was still quite fussy. The soy has been the best thing for him. It makes me sooo nervous to give him regular milk.

With my kids that have been on soy formula, I usually start around11 months adding regular milk with the formula  If I notice any digestive issues I back off and wait a bit.  I slowly increased he milk and decrease the formula.  This has been very successful.  One of my kids did continue to have a lactose intolerance and was on lactaid for a year or so post-formula but he's been on regular milk since then and has no issues.

I bf both my kids.  At 12 months is usually when u give them milk but neither of mine would drink it.  I just added a vitamin and fed them lots of calcium rich foods.  My pedi was ok with that because they never dropped in weight it anything.

it was 12 mths when i switched my dd to milk.  I just gave her 2% though.   I wasnt about to buy two different milks.  As long as their weight is ok.  However if they arent gaining any they may put the babby on whole milk for a couple weeks to get weight up.  Try whatever works for you!

12 months is what most drs suggest for switching over to whole milk. You'll probably want to have some regular milk and soy on hand and see what he does better with. My daughter couldn't do whole milk or soy. We ended up having to use a special toddler brand formula for kids that were inbetween the two stages. After two months of that we moved into whole milk just fine.

The regular formula thing is probably just taste.
