OT baby teething question

I put this up on the Maternal & Child forum but wanted opinions from those here that do not go there very often.
My son is now only 8 weeks old on Tuesday, and is displaying some signs of possible teething. I know this is way early, but is it possible? He started drooling a bit a day or two ago and is now showing signs of pain and discomfort last night.. A totally different cry than his usual, he has his hands up to his face/mouth more often and he is not hungry.. I checked his gums and I don't know what I'm looking for so it didn't help too much.. I think there may be a raised spot but I can't tell! I may take a picture and upload it for some opinions.. But anyway, is this possible? He has also been putting his fists up near his ears and yanking them downward along his cheeks like he does when he's really, really tired, but he's not tired. He just got up an hour ago..
Opinions?

Yes, it is possible.  Babies can actually start to feel the pain of teething when they are as young as 2 months old (even if they don't actually get teeth for a few more months) and if he's drooling, then that is probably why.  You can give him Tylenol for the pain.  I have been told not to give Motrin until they are 6 months old.  I'd keep an eye on him with the year thing though.  If you notice him tugging on his ears, he could be getting an ear infection.  But it sounds like he is starting to teeth.  He will probably start to chew on his little hands and fists as time goes on.  I hope the little guy starts to feel better soon :)

How are you??  I am back at work this week so I will send you a message soon.

Is it possible?  Yes!  Some babies have even been born with teeth so it is possible that he could be teething this early.  It's likely at two months that something else is causing it but you can watch for other signs of teething as well as it very well could be that. When checking his gums you are looking for white spots ....like white UNDER the gums...or red/inflammed/irritated spots.  Teething will sometimes bring about a LOW GRADE fever.  BUT with him tugging at his ears like you described my first thought is ear infection.  Have you had his ears checked recently?  It probably wouldnt' hurt to have them looked at.  Ear infections may or may not cause other physical signs.
