Thank you everyone for your opinions. I will continue to research and try to make the best decision I can. I appreciate all the comments.
We declined with our youngest daughter after much research. We didn't feel she needed it until she started school.
Leading health organizations—CDC, AAP, AAFP, and ACOG—recommend that all hospitals and healthcare professionals protect newborns from hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection by administering the first dose of hepatitis B vaccine (HepB) to every baby at birth, no later than hospital discharge. It is ultimately your decision in the end, so you can do as you want to, but just make sure to do some research on it.
unless the baby is high risk, i would not get the vaccine at birth. they only do that because they assume everyone is high risk. i would wait until the baby is 2 and start the series. this is also recommended by dr sears and dr oz.
My premature baby got it at birth with no issues it was recommended by the NICU staff of children's memorial hospital in Chicago
My daughter received her shot at birth and she is a healthy 8 1/2 yr. old now. I think it's just personal preference.
I got it for my lil girl she is o days and good so far. But I wanted them to monitor her after just incause of fever or somthing. Just another thought on getting it right away. Plus u never know who has it n everyone wants to touch ur new baby
all 5 of my kids have gotten them at birth. Never had any issues because of it.

With my 1st baby they didn't offer it in the hospital, I refused with my last 2, waited until their first round of shots.
