d&c Dilation and Curettage it is a surgery that removes any remaining tissue after a miscarriage.
Before I started on this site I didn't really know any of the lingo and had to do a ton of research on the internet before learning what to do about my infertility. I am 23 and have 2 children so don't be so hard on yourself!
So even when an egg is released if it's not "mature" you don't ovulate that month? But you still have a period? or will you not have a period? That's strange that You can have one egg pass as another is being released. i suppose it's not impossible though. I have always been told nothing is impossible. I've heard of crazy things happening that no one would believe. I learned about how women get pregnant and all that in school but not so much about "ovulation". I never heard of a lot of the stuff I read in the forum. I never cared much about my periods or anything. Unless I know I haven't had one in a long time. I used to go months without one sometimes. Just the way I was. I never thought anything of it. I feel so stupid. I'm 24 and pregnant with my 3rd baby and know nothing about this stuff. I don't know what TTC means or AF or D&C or any of that.
Actually, you ovulate about 2 weeks BEFORE your next period. And no, you cannot become pregnant if you do not ovulate. Ovulation is the release of a mature egg (aka follicle) from the ovary. If an egg is not released there is nothing for the sperm to fertilize.
As for women who get pregnant during their period- they typically have very, very short cycles. As she menstruates the old egg from her previous cycle, a new egg is released from the ovary. The egg doesn't just skip down to the uterus in a matter of minutes or hours, it can take days. Therefore, some women can become pregnant during their period, or right after it ends, but this is a rare occurrence.
