PLEASE HELP!

Im told by my DR. that i have a blighted ovum.... I have had 3 u/s. all showing a growing sac..nothing more. I have had MANY blood test taken..all of them show my beta rising. I just got back from the DR today. MY sac is measuring about 7.4 wks. they say it did not grow from 5 days ago, so there concluding a blighted ovum. My beta count went up from 9000 to 45000 in about a week. I do have a tilted uterus, i was told by 3 doctors here that, that has nothing to do with anything. They want me to Schedule an D&C and said i have no hope. are they right? why do my levels keep rising so much. Is there any hope, or should i just bite the bullet and get it done with????????

There is no rush on the d&c. I got one in my case because it had stopped growing so long before and I work out in the middle of no where and I couldnt take the anxiety of waiting at that point..  It was a good experience for me but doesnt mean I would get one in every case.

I would at least get your bloodwork checked again in 48 hours as doctors do make mistakes

I wish I could help.  I had a blighted ovum also but my numbers had been dropping though it was still inside me 5 weeks after it had stopped growing.  Sometimes the numbers continue to rise before they start to taper off.  at 7.4weeks, you should see something and if the sac didnt grow over the week it is not a good sign.

I wouldnt get a D&C until you are feel you are confident that the doctors are telling you the right thing as it is your body and you want to feel you made the right decision.  Over a week your numbers should have risen from 9000 to approx 720000 if we expect them to double every 48 hours.  I have heard that having a titled uterus can make the ultrasound harder to find stuff.

Its such a scary time.  You could request bloodwork in another 48 hours to see how your numbes compare then

refuse the D & C. Your numbers should not be rising so dramatically although they should see something. tell them if you are going to miscarry you will do it naturally. what i know of this is that with tilted wombs it takes longer to find a baby although by week 8 they can diagnose a blighted ovum but it may take a few weeks longer to pass. it is said to be painful although doctors get blighted ovums wrong sometimes. i recommend getting a second opinion.
