Pain under ribs at 6 1/2 weeks

All day I have had this moderate pain under the left side of my ribs, like directly under my ribcage. It hurts and it comes and goes. Could this be stretching pain? But if it is, why is it so high? I am 6w 4d preggo and have had the occassional stretching pain really low which I would guess is my uterus growing and moving up a bit, but this pain under my ribs is weird. I have a little bit of heart-burn pain, nothing crazy, I wonder if that could be part of it? Just never felt it there before. I  should know this stuff by now considering this will be my 3rd baby! lol thanks ladies!

I agree with Sun I think it's just gas. Have a cup of pepermint tea.

Thanks SunWorshiper_26! The pain hasn't come back thankfully! I'm thinking it had to have been gas or heart burn.

It could be gas (even if you aren't farting) or it could be constipation, heart burn, sleeping in a funny position, or even gull bladder problems or kidney issues. All of these are more common in pregnancy. I got that sometimes too. My OB thinks it must be something I eat but can't pin point what it is. He thought it was my gull bladder but I had that removed years ago. It disappeared after the first trimester but not as I enter the last trimester it is back :P

Thanks ladies! I don't have gas (TMI..lol), but I suppose it could be that! It seems to be gone now, which is good for me. I couldn't find a comfortable position to be in for the longest time because of it.
Makes me feel a little better knowing you had a similar pain aly. Strange! I need to stop worrying so much.

It has nothing to do with the baby, your uterus is the size of a grapefruit at that point and is just over the pubis bone. The thing I would say would be gas! Which can be a pregnancy thing. hope you ffel better soon but I would not worry about it unless it is in your back more which can be kidney infection. But that is not muscle pain and very deep ache from what i hear.
