Pelvic and Pubic pain

I get these pains off and on and the first time it happened, I had an infection (bacterial vaginosis or BV). That was somewhere around 20 weeks, got it treated and it went away. Then a couple of months later it happened again and I thought the infection was back. Got checked out, but I was fine. Now, I am almost 34weeks and and for the last couple of weeks I have this pain when I am laying down and try to turn to one side or the other and it's extremely painful, to the point I just about cry trying to turn over and just to get out of bed. I've been on bedrest since 25 weeks, but this is the worst this pain has ever been. I also get this burning feeling right in my pubic area, like it's on the inside and it stings a lot. That pain comes and goes throughout the day. I also sometimes get this sharp pain in my cervix, it's very sudden and hurts just for a few seconds.
I haven't been checked for another infection because I don't want to waste the money on an appt. if it's negative again. Is it normal to have these pains? Could it just be the baby settling into position more? I'm debating whether or not to call to get a swab done to see if it's an infection or just things relaxing, but I hate going in if it's nothing. Anyone else feel like this!?

I have worse pelvic pain with this pregnancy than with my first.  After reading nola's post, I totally agree with what she said.  I have also noticed the last couple weeks, that if I kept my legs together when rolling over in bed, or getting out of bed it was a lot better.  I also have the boppy pregnancy pillow that I keep between my legs and slightly under my belly.  I guess with each pregnancy our bodies maybe get looser, so the pain is worse in that area?  I'm sorry you're experiencing this - not too many more weeks to go, though!

Thanks nola! I always sleep with a pillow between my legs, can't sleep without it! haha I always sleep with a pillow under my belly and my back and usually hug another pillow. Pillow crazy maybe?!? ;)
Thanks for the tip about keeping my legs together before getting out of bed, that actually helps a great deal!!
I always get worried that during delivery my pelvis is just going to break....crazy I know, but thankfully it hasn't yet! Today is not as bad as yesterday which is nice! But I will still mention it to my midwife tomorrow when I see her. I am so close now though and just want these next 2 weeks to fly by so I can be a little more active again. I'm sure being on bedrest doesn't help the pelvic pain whatsoever.

As others have mentioned, it really does sound like SPD (symphis pubis dysfunction) - it is when the pelvic bones separate too much.  I had it sooooo bad in my pregnancy - I was walking with a cane at the end (and I was barely walking).  I vividly remember than even more painful than moving was turning over in bed - yikes!!  Physical therapy really helped me, as did a pelvic support belt and a stomach support belt.  PT may be out for you since you are on bed rest, and you may not need the pelvic support belt if you are not walking much.  What did help me in bed was to make sure that I always had a small pillow between my legs (when laying on your side) and whenever you turn or get out of bed make sure that you keep your legs together and move them both at the same time - this also goes for when you do things like get out of a car - turn sideways first with both legs together and then get up - try to avoid separating your legs as much as you can.

I was so worried about delivery but the good news is that it did not have any bearing on my labor or delivery - fast labor (less than 7 hours, and he was my first) and less than 10 minutes of pushing!!  

I would definitely talk to your doctor about it, just to be on the safe side.  I feel for you - bed rest must be hard enough, but you are so, so close.  Hang in there.

Thanks! I do not remember this pain with my other pregnancies, or at least not to this degree! I know after I gave birth to my first 2, my pelvis would shift out of place for 6months to a year (and that's when I would end of pregnant again) So I am hoping to give my body a rest for 2 years and see if that helps some. But I know toward the end of pregnancy, things start separating and preparing, but this is just crazy!! I see my midwife on thursday but if it gets worse before I see her, I think I will definitely call. Hopefully she has some tips for me. I have been getting more contractions lately, but nothing consistent.

It sounds like SPD. I had this with my pregnancy it would happen off and on during the day. The day I went into labor I was adamant about going into L & D because I was having these pains right on top of each other while I was resting. So I assumed that it was nothing, but by 6pm my DH made me go in and sure enough I was in labor. I had back labor and with every contraction it would literally feel like my pelvis and pubic bone were being ripped apart. I would still call your ob/midwife bc there is some things they can do for it. I was advised to get one of those belly supports which did help and then she called me out some flexeril, although I never took them.

There is a condition that I know of, but I can't remember the name of. It has to do with the pubic bone. When pregnant the ligaments between the two halves of the pubic bone move. I had this with my last baby and omg it was sooo painful. There is a tummy support belt that you can to lift your tummy up and help support your tummy. Sorry I wasn't much help, but I do know what your going through
