Period-like cramps at 5 weeks

I've been having some cramps like AF is starting. But I just for my BFP 2 days ago and am about 5 weeks. Is this normal or should I be prepared for a miscarriage?

AF = Aunt flow (your period)
BFP = big fat pregnant
DH = dear/darling husband
DS = dear/darling son DD = daughter
CM = cervical mucas
CP = cervical position
BFN = big fat no/neg

hmmmm...hope that helps

Well, I will be 9 weeks on Thursday! But when I first found out I was pregnant the first few weeks I had cramps like AF was going to show. I was sure I wasn't pregnant because I KNEW AF was coming from the cramps I was having. Then I got my BFP! The cramping stopped for a little while and then it started up again a few days before I was 6 weeks. I actually stopped in to my docotrs office because I was so worried I thought I was going to miscarry as well. But they did an ultrasound and everything looked perfect! The doctor actually told me the cramps could be because I had been having some mild constipation issues (tmi, sorry). So What I'm trying to say is, I'm no expert this is my first pregnancy but I myself had cramping early on that felt like AF was on her way! But here I am 9 weeks and praying to make it to 40!!! Best advise if you are very concerned call your doctor and ask their advice and ask for an early ultrasound to check for signs of an early miscarraige. It will help set your mind at ease and you will get to see your little bean!
