Placenta previa; anyone know anything about it?

My 20week anatomy ultrasound indicates complete placenta previa. I was so relieved that this was the reason for the phone call from the doctors office I forgot to ask any questions. All I knew was that it was common for the placenta to move up and away from the cervix during pregnancy.

After coming home and looking through my books and visiting my best friend Mr Google I now have lots more questions and no doc appointment for 4weeks.

Should I be worried about lifting anything with any weight?
Can I have sex?
Am I allowed to orgasm?
Would I be destined to have cesarean if it does not correct itself?
What is the incidence of preterm labour? I have had one threatened preterm in the past.
Will I have to seriously make plans for bedrest later in pregnancy?

Any stories and advice  would be appreciated.

Most of these questions are ones you need to discuss wtih your doctor.  Doctors have varying opinions on the answers to most of them.

The placenta can move and at this point you have plenty of time.  However if it IS covering the cervix when it comes time for labor you will most likely have to have a cesarean.

complete placenta previa will most DEFINATLY require a Csection, even BEFORE you start getting contractions. you will likely be getting a csection 2 wks early, Unless it corrects itself, i hope it does!

My mom had placenta previa with me and she was in the hospital for 3 months on bedrest. The placenta did move out of the way on its own close to before I was born and I was nowhere near premature, I came 2 weeks late.

If if doesn't dorrect itself, a c-section is required. When I was diagnosed, (I had a partial previa) I was put on pelvic rest, and sex was a no-no. Mine luckily corrected itself, but I *think* if you have a full previa present in late pregnancy, bed rest is pretty standard, but don't quote me on that. I would avoid lifting anything over 5 pounds.. I didn't look at the link losingMyMindInGA posted for you, but I am sure that has great advice, and is likely more accurate. Best of luck!
