why dont you get the hcg levels repeated on the third day itself. in viable pregnancy it should double in 2- 3days.
thanks for responding, Infact we have done hcg level testing today and will be doing it once again after 1 week with one more US...
Thanks again....
If the baby didn't grow at all it sounds to me like a missed miscarriage. I am so sorry that your wife is having to go through this. I went though a missed miscarriage with my first pregnancy and it is heartbreaking. If you want to be absolutely sure though have them take her hcg levels and than retest them again 48-72 hours later. If they are dropping or not doubling within 72 hours than it is a miscarriage. If they do double than get another ultrasound and see if there is any growth.
Hi all,
I am really looking for your suggestions if you have any from your past experience. We are trying for baby naturally for last 5 years with no success and then decided to do IVF. I am 33 years old and my wife is 30. After 3 embryo transfers and 2 weeks wait time, we had smile on our face when doctor said hcg level is +ve.
Then RE called us for ultrasound at 7th week, we saw one sac but fetus was measuring at 5 weeks 2 days and no heart beats, doctor concluded implantation took place late.
And RE called us again after 10 days for 2nd ultrasound. With 2nd ultrasound, also we did not see any heartbeat nor fetus was grown from the last measurement, Doctor broke our heart by saying its not viable pregnancy and we should go for D&E. I am very upset and can’t see my wife crying all night since then. Please help us and let me know your suggestions. Thanks!!
I agree with alaysha, especially since your cycles are so irregular, the dates the websites gave you wouldnt be accurate. They arent perfectly accurate to begin with and they are based on average times most womans periods last and when its average for most woman to ovulate. I'm guessing that since your periods are so irregular that your ovulation times compared to a woman with the average cycle of 28-32 days wouldnt be the same. Im sure your OB would be more than happy to explain the best she can. And her doing the internal and feeling your uterus is just a guesstimate. its definitely not accurate. Congrats on your pregnancy and since at your u/s everything looked fine and normal i wouldnt worry too much
Well first off pressing on your stomach and guesstimating how far along you are in early pregnancy is NOT an accurate thing and I wouldn't be surprised if its off at all. Second I would guess that you are only just barely 6 weeks which would correlate well with your ultrasound. Also its possible that you implanted late or got an early result with a pregnancy test. Your levels are doubling which indicate a normal healthy pregnancy and you have had two ultrasounds which show positive growth. I wouldn't worry too much at this point. Your next ultrasound should be able to give you more information.
