Please help!

I really need to know if my doctor would know if I'm 35 weeks instead of 29 weeks pregnant?

This is a wonderful website for pregnancy questions, and their are other forums for different topics. There's tons of nice ladies who have helped me quite a bit. I love this site, it's been very helpful.  But just so you know some of the other forums don't get a lot of "traffic" (people stopping by to reply) but, this forum, Pregnancy 18-34 is full of people, and you don't have to ask only pregnancy questions. So feel free to keep posting, and let us know how you're doing, or ask any pregnancy questions, either myself or one of the other ladies will answer.

I'm sure it did if your periods are regular and your scans have all shown your same due date, I've never heard of a doctor being that far off. Stop worrying and enjoy your pregnancy!

Yeah, my periods are very accurate, thats the only reason I kinda believe it happened in January.

Okay, the truth is my boyfriend and I tried esctasy on the 4th of December. Us not getting pregnant was he last thing on our mind. I'm trying to make sure we got pregnant in January instead of December. I can't really enjoy my pregnancy because of this, I feel awful and I will never put myself in this position again, but I do need answers PLEASE.

Sorry missed where you had already answered that, but since you had two periods in since your "wild" night...you weren't pregnant. It's rare but not unheard of for a woman to have a period and be pregnant, but ultrasound measurements would show more accurately how far you are.

They go by your last period to begin with, and they go by measurements of the baby during ultrasounds when you get them done, that's why your due date may change, but only by a few days...not weeks.

The ultrasound measurements wouldn't be that far off unless there was something wrong with the baby, or it was not a viable pregnancy, which you would know already from the ultrasounds. The measurements are usually pretty accurate. And with a due date of Oct 13, you would be about 28-29 weeks. You have 10 weeks 5 days left, or 4 days depending if you count the day you are due and where you are in the world. It's Thurs the 30th here. SO...I'd say the doctor is right. Between 29 and 35 weeks babies grow a good bit, I don't think they can be wrong, and unless you have a doctor who is fresh out of school, he/she has been doing this for a while...what makes you think you're further along?

I've had like 3 ultrasounds and they've kept the same due date. But i'm wondering if they are just going by what I told them my last period was. Do they have to look at the ultrasound measurements. or do they just go by what I said my last period was.

They base the day you are due and how far you are off the last period you had. Day one of your last period would be day one of your pregnancy, this does not mean you got pregnant that day, they just base 40 weeks from that day is when you are due to give birth. You can google conception date calculator and the first website will tell you this. Your last period was (keep in mind this is an estimate) Jan 6, PROBABLE date of ovulation Jan 20 and POSSIBLE dates of conception Jan 16-Jan 24. So if your period was Jan 10, then you sound right on for Oct 13 or around there. Ultrasounds may change the due date because we don't know when our eggs implant or exactly when we ovulate so during an ultrasound they measure the baby, and based on those measurements doctors get the gestational age, meaning how far you are.

Because me and the boyfriend had a "wild" night on december 4th, but I got a period on the 10th of December and then on January 10, but not for Febuary. We've always had unprotected sex, but we use the ol' pull-out method. but on this night we didn't and we didn't a couple times in January. So I'm wondering when I got pregnant. I've had ultrasounds and my due date has been the same (october 13th).

That's a pretty big difference, I'm sure your doctor would be right based off your last period and doing ultrasounds to measure.
