Possible pregnancy or is my body just still adjusting itself to being taken off a birth control pill & exercising?
I'm 26 years old and am on my way to missing my 2nd period in a row now. I used my last birth control pill 8/9/08. My last period was in 9/6/08. I am in a steady long-term relationship (6 years) & neither of us has ever had another sexual partner. I have not had sexual intercourse since sometime in mid-late 7/2008, and I was on a birth control pill (Reclipsen or Desogen) & used a latex condom at that time.
Since mid-June I have been eating healthier (1200-1400 calories/day w/ a healthy balance of protein/fat/carbs, except the 1 day a week I eat at a restaurant, then probably 1600-2000 calories/day), exercising (usually 5-6 days/wk, but the last 3-4 weeks about 3-6 days/wk, w/ 1.5-3 hours cardio/stretching/conditioning) & lost a little over 20 lbs (for a healthy BMI now at a little less than 140lbs). During the last 2-3 weeks I started jogging instead of walking (it was getting a lot harder to get my heart rate up), so the intensity of my workout has increased somewhat. I also take vitamins (multi, calcium, B-complex, & fish oil) & no medications.
I had a history of slightly irregular periods before I was on a birth control pill (over 6 years ago), but I don't ever remember missing 2 in a row. When I would miss a period, & there were a few times I missed one even when I was on the pill, it was because of stress or that I suddenly started an exercise routine or stopped an exercise routine. But I have been exercising for awhile now & I try to watch my stress levels (although I'm willing to consider the possibility that maybe I'm being more affected by stressors than I realize, even though I think I have a good support system at home).
I took a pregnancy test in case of some strange, remote chance, & the result was negative. I have no other noticeable symptoms like breast tenderness, nausea, vision change, etc.
Is there anything I should be concerned about & need to follow-up with my doctor (e.g. pregnancy, hormonal balance, etc.)? Or is my body just still adjusting itself to being taken off a birth control pill & exercising?

Could be coming off birth control and exercise! You can always call your doctor and tell s/he you would like a blood test to rule out pregnancy! Likely it's to exercise and coming off the pill because your body will take a while to adjust back to it!
when i got off birth control, because i was on it for so long, i didn't get my period for about 3 months.... i was freaking out let me tell you, but.... i wasn't pregnant and my periods started to regulate themselves for the most part ;) good luck.
