Possible pregnant with financial issues

If I find out I am pregnant in the next few days, then it will be with baby 6. I have used the same dr to deliver all my babies, but she doesn't accept medicaid and I know that I will qualify if I am pregnant. I have with the last three. So should I stick with my dr that I love and trust more than anything or try to help us out financially and go with a new dr that takes medicaid?

I think you should go with medicaid so that you don't burden yourself with extra expenses. I have insurance through my job and I have paid a lot out of pocket. Plus by the 28th wk I have to have a credit of 560 on my account for my doc to deliver the baby in March. we started a savings for baby stuff because we know waiting to the lsat minute will break us. I work two jobs as it is and I'm exhausted. I know once my son if old enough for public school it won't be such a burden but until then I have to pay $100 a wk for his school. So if it was me I would definitely save money by using a doc with medicaid. I'm sure there are some good docs accepting that insurance in your area.

I have private insurance and can get medicaid to cover the hospital cost, but it the $1800 that the dr charges, if I decided to go with her instead of an medicaid dr. My husband is a school teacher, so we both have insurance but we still have to cover $2000 for deductible and $3000 out of pocket expense per person before the insurance will cover. We just bought a new house and am still having a hard time getting used to the new house payments, plus a new car for hubby for work.

Unfortunately, it will get very costly if you're going to a doctor without insurance, you never know what's going to happen during pregnancy, labor and delivery. I would find a doctor that accepts your insurance unless you can get a form of insurance your current doctor accepts, you can find a doctor you love and trust still, it just will be helpful financially to find a new one.
