Post Partum bleeding and sex

Hi all, I just need to run this by you all..

Jaxson in 9 weeks old today! OMgosh, time is flying..

Here goes.. K & I *tried* to have sex about 3 1/2 weeks after he was born, it was painful and I was still bleeding fairly heavily, so we stopped... We then tried again at 5.5 - 6 weeks p/p. It was nice, no problems (even though I was still bleeding lightly). At about 7.5 weeks p/p I stopped bleeding TOTALLY for about 4 days, then I *think* I got my period.. Ok.. Fine..

Now I am 9 weeks and we had sex 2 nights ago, when we finished, there was a little blood. K said " I think you may be starting your period." I figured he was probably right, put on a pad, and went to sleep.. NO blood yesterday or today.. What is that about? Is it normal to bleed a little after sex @ 9 weeks post partum? I am so confused and feel like I dont know my body anymore. I appreciate experiences/input! Thanks ladies!

After my son I bled for about 4 weeks. The fifth week it was really light. At 5 weeks my hubby and I tried to have sex and it went pretty smoothly. At about 9 or 10 weeks p/p we were having sex and I started bleeding. It wasn't my period because my period started 7 week p/p; a week and a half after p/p bleeding. Anyways, I bled randomly while having sex until about 14 to 15 weeks p/p! So it could just be irritation.

I agree w/ worriedbabe.

What kind of b/c did you decide on??  I remember you starting a thread about different options, but I can't remember what you decided on after all.  That may have an effect as well...

yes it's normal, it takes quite a while for your body to get back to normal after the birth.
