Pre-eclampsia

I'm currently 33 weeks pregnant & just visited my doctor today with fear that I may have pre-eclampsia. For the past week or so my feet have been fairly swollen, along with a little bit of swelling in my hands which hasn't even been bad enough for my rings to stop fitting comfortably. Aside from the swelling in my feet and hands, there is no swelling in my face nor is there any protein in my urine. As for my blood pressure, they told me it was just fine. It was higher than normal for me but just fine for a normal person and the nurse said that it could just be because of my growing baby and because I'm getting further in my pregnancy. My doctor told me I have no symptoms of pre-eclampsia but ordered me a blood test to ease my mind of having something wrong at all. I've been through so much this pregnancy, including an excessive amount of blood work for the screening tests which have all proven themselves to be extremely inaccurate and a waste of time. So my question is.. should I get the blood work done or as long as the doctor said everything is fine don't worry about it? I don't wanna get it if it's just "to ease my mind", I hate getting blood taken and don't find it necessary if there isn't an actual problem. I just don't wanna not get it done and later find out something is wrong!

Thanks for the help, guys. I ended up going this afternoon to get the blood work done. This pregnancy has given me the most worried and paranoid personality :( I thought to myself all last night "what if something's wrong and it gets worse because I waited too long" so I decided going to get the tests done would be best. Hopefully everything turns out okay!

Well you can never be too safe I personally would go ahead and do the blood test just for piece of mind

I'm a little farther along, 38+5 and have had some recent swelling, mostly when I get hot, and mostly in my hands, my BP is fine and my urine shows no protein, so my doctor isn't worried about it at all. It's a very serious issue, so if you feel like you may be getting it, definitely get checked for it!
