Pregnancy Hormone levels

I had a miscarriage on September 18, 2010. Going by my last missed period I should've been around 8-9 weeks pregnant. The ultrasound indicated that I was only about 4-5 weeks along so they started monitoring my hormone levels. In the 3 separate days of tests the doctors noticed that my levels were not increasing as they should and informed me that I would more than likely miscarry. The bleeding started two hours after the phone call. About 4 weeks later I returned to my doctor to make sure everything was going ok, as ok as these things can... But all she did was the "finger" exam, gave me a prescription for Depo and sent me on my way. About 2 weeks after getting my depo shot I took a random pregnancy test, don't ask why, and got a bold line and a faint line. It was faint, not like you had to squint and wonder if your mind was playing tricks on you, but not bold like the other. I chalked this one up to the hormones still being in my body after the miscarriage. Now however, almost 4 months later I take another pregnancy test and get the same exact result. So my question is, is it possible for the Hcg to stay in your body this long, and I should be worried because I didn't have a complete miscarriage, or is it possible that even after being on BC (with no antibiotic interference) that I am pregnant again? I am really worried here. Another kicker I have not had a period since June after being regular my whole life... Please Help!

as early as you miscarried it shouldn't have taken more than a month at the most to pass everything and you should definately not still be having a positive pregnancy test unless this is a new pregnancy.  You should seek medical attention this can become a dangerous health hazard.

OH this is real bad! Your dr should of maonitored you that your levels returned to normal! You probleble still have stuff in you and need a DnC...

THe baby still remaining would be the only thing keeping your levels up and yes it does take soem time but not that long. I would go to another dr and get an us and hormone levels checked then have them schedule you for surgery if they say your levels are up and you are not pregnant again.

Best of luck and longer it stays in you it can actually casue major health issues and complicate future pregnancies. My sister passed her baby and her levels were at 15 for a month then finally went to zero which is what they should be and you need at least 25-100 deoending on the pregnancy test for urine for it to show and that is not blood but urine and your blood would have to be far greater then that!
