Pregnancy after DNC

I was wondering if anyone knew when I would ovulate again after having to have an emergency DNC after being 8 months pregnant.  My doctor at the time told me there was no baby and after having the deseased baby in my womb for 8 months I got really sick and was put in the hospital and they did the DNC.  I have a daugther that is 21 months old and we are ready to try again. I just didnt know if and when I would ovulate again.  I just quit taking my birth control in December 2007 and have just started trying again.  Any tips or similar situations???

Have you been preg before this? Did you worry when you didnt feel your baby move?  Is that your first born in the picture w/you?

I would join something like fertilityfriend.com and chart your temp, cm, and OPK.  You can really get  a good look at your fertility that way.

You poor girl,im so sorry for your loss.law suit comes to mind thats shocking....as previous people have said it depends if you just come off bc i believe it can take some time to regulate your period, but i never been on it so not sure. i use clearblue ov sticks, use them in the afternoon i use them after 2pm,no pee pee for at least 3-4 hours...so hard for me...once you get smiley face that egg will be released within 12-48 hours good luck..i really would be seeking legal advice..

My DNC was in April and my due date was May of 2007.  Yes, I had a dead baby in my body for 8 Months.  The baby didnt grow it was still in the 4th month stage when I passed it.  I got put in the hospital because I had major infection because I had carried it so long.  It scares me a little because it was the doctor who let it go this far.  She told me that I was no longer pregnant and I requested to have a DNC so that I could get back to my periods.  She said there was no need for one.  She is no longer a doctor.  She quit practicing after my situation.  I think that she knows she messed up.  I didnt have a period the whole time I was carrying the dead baby of course and then I finally started again in May.  I have had normal periods since then and found another doctor.  I have been on birth control since June and quit taking it in December 2007.  Thanks for your help.  I have been trying to figure out when I ovulate and looked online at the calendars and done a few ovulation tests.  Does anyone recommend any certain ovulation test that is better than the others??  Thanks for your concerns

So you had a dead baby in your body for 8 months? I'm a little confused! I am very sorry for your loss, no matter how it happened, but the the details are fuzzy. So does that mean the baby never grew for 8 months or that it died at around 8 months?

Anyway, it took me 8 weeks to get a period after my m/c. I got pregnant after that first period. You CAN become pregnant before you get your period again. You need to monitor your fertility and find out when you are ovulating because at this point, it is anyone's guess!

You can chart your temps, cervical mucous, or buy ovulation prediction kits (which cost money and aren't always effective or easy to read as I've heard from other posters).

Please let me know if you need more info!
