Pregnancy and tylenol 1

Hello,  I just had a question in regards to pregnancy and a small dose of codeine.  Due to pelvic pain I have daily taken 2 tylenol #1 in the morning and 2 at night.  The tablet is 300mg acetaminophen with 8 mg of codeine.  Total codeine being 32mg in one day.

I've read all this stuff about baby withdrawing and dependancy issues and i know reading stuff on the internet is not the greatest idea but wanted to get feedback from a doctor if possible and greatly appreciated.

I dont' know if I'm just over worrying cause it is a small dose , but just want to make sure that these awful things I'm reading is more so i the cause where codeine is abused or taken in large doses.

Thanks Ashe!!  I'm 32 weeks.  And I'm just going to not take any now.  My doctor said that there is very little codeine in the tylenol 1.  8mg.  But still with being hormonal and starting to worry about everything!!   I should know better than to read stuff on the internet!!

I guess what I have been taking for one day total would equal 1 tylenol #3.

sorry I meant to add I'm not a doctor...AND...only take this if you are prescribed it, and with the knowledge and guidance of your OB.

codeine is considered fairly safe to take during pregnancy. how far along are you? the best thing to do would be to discuss your concerns with your OB, but many women on this board (myself included) have taken pain medicine much stronger than codeine and given birth to healthy happy babies. the biggest risk is, yes, withdrawal because of dependency, but I took pain meds right through delivery with my son and he was born without any sort of issues. I stopped taking pain meds about 4 weeks before my daughter was born and she also had no problems. it's ideal to not take anything but if you're in a lot of pain and your OB is on board with your treatment, yous hould be just fine. it's actually rare that I hear a story of a child born dependent or of one that goes through withdrawals. feel free to PM me if you have any questions!
