Pregnant on birth control?

I just started taking birth control 16 days ago I believe, my boyfriend and I don't use any other form of birth control. He has came inside me a few times especially around my ovulation time. We know he is definitely fertile (he has kids) but we are concerned that I possibly could get pregnant since I just started taking birth control. Help please!

Ya you have to take it properly for an entire month for it to be effective.

I would def go see your doctor and have blood work done. That can tell you for sure. I don't trust BC either I was on it after my 16 mo old was born and never missed one, took at same time daily, no antibiotics and am now 14+1....no method is ever 100% even when. You double up-meaning BC pills & condoms or other forms. Good luck.

I was on birth control for 5 months never missed one and also used protection every time, the condom snapped and I'm now 37 weeks pregnant. Birth control is never 100%

Update: I was supposed to start my period November 14th...I am now 10 days late. I took a couple pregnancy tests, they started showing a faint positive but disappeared(both times)...ended up being a VERY faint negative line. I have very swollen, tender breast, along with headaches and my back pain started last night. I'm not sure what to do, my mom told me I could possibly not have enough pregnancy hormone yet in my system. My boyfriend told me I should go to the doctor to get a test done since they are more sensitive then store brought.

You more than likely will not be pregnant then.

I started taking the birth control the day I started my period, she gave me that option or the option to start the sunday after I start. I just took my pill this morning im on day 19. I haven't missed a pill yet, I just don't take it at the same time everyday...I never have with any of my meds. My boyfriend just asked me when im supposed to start my period. My calendar says November 14th so I guess  I shall see. Thanks everyone.

Sorry but maybe you should have paid attention to your doctor.. You're meant to take it on the first day of your period so then by the time you come off your period you won't ovulate.

I don't trust birth control. I had been taking it for about 2 & a 1/2 months regularly, & never missed one... Well, I'll be 11 weeks on sunday. So yes. There is a possibility that you can get pregnant.

I wasn't told...maybe they did tell me and I wasn't paying attention? That's always possible, my mind has been running non-stop for awhile now. So I would find out in like 2 weeks right?

They say to use a back up the first month of birth control. Hopefully you'll be okay but just be careful, only time will tell

Its not impossible, usually they advise to use a second method of protection for like the 1st month of being on bc to allow it to get into your system. If you have been taking them regularly it could possibly lessen the chance but now you will just have to wait to be sure
