Progesterone Dropped

I was supposed to get my third beta-hCG and Progesterone tests last Thursday but due to a snowstorm I had to wait until yesterday. I just called a few minutes ago to get my results and they told me my hCG went to 11,000 (which is good) and my Progesterone dropped to 11.6. So they're calling in Prometrium for me to pick up here in a moment.

My last miscarriage my hCG was rising and my Progesterone dropped. To say I'm freaking out is an understatement.

I just saw your post. I am in the same nervous boat as you. Your beta is really high - that is a good sign. I am finally pregnant again after several m/cs and years of trying for my 1st. I was spotting for a few days, which is exactly how my other m/cs started, so I was kind of a nervous wreck. My beta #s are looking good though and spotting seems to have stopped for now. I won't know more until 1st u/s on Feb 7. So it looks like we both have to wait until that week... It feels like such a long time to wait... Praying for you and your baby.

The shots and cream would actually be more potent than the pills so the pills may be a better alternative. Still no word from the midwives. They're probably busy with more pressing issues like laboring mommas so I'm not worried about it. I took the pill after I nursed her tonight.

Shasy- my prayers are with you too!!! I know how badly you want a little one!

Malia- thanks! It is hard not to be frustrated and worried so I just need to let it go and focus on each day as it comes. I can't control the outcome, right?! So hard to remain peaceful though when you want to protect your little one and don't know what is going on.

I think when the midwives call me back about the breastfeeding-while-taking-the-med issue I'll bring up a sonogram. I won't ask; I'll tell them I want one. If I'm paying then what is it to them anyhow, right? And one midwife warned me the other day, "By 7 weeks baby can feel what you're feeling so don't worry!" Well giving me the sono next week will help.

Don't lose faith Joy! The fact that they are doubling is good. They should have given the meds to you from the get-go but at least you are getting them now!

Oh and I just realized Prometrium isn't supposed to be taken while breastfeeding and I'm still nursing my 15-month-old about 2-3 times a day. So I just called them and waiting for a callback.

Joy I am praying for you and this baby!  I understand the progesterone thing.  The doctors are putting me on clomid and then progesterone immediately after coming off clomid.  I'm a little nervous..but they think its gonna work.

Thank you everyone! It means a lot. It's hard to wonder what is going on inside there. I won't see my midwife until Feb 9th so just hanging in there and going to see what happens! They didn't mention a sonogram yet but hopefully they give me one that week (I should be 8 weeks).

I had to take Progesterone my last pregnancy (with my Zoƫ) but I started taking it immediately and didn't wait for blood tests. This time they waited until they saw a drop before prescribing it even though I pretty much said I wanted to take it from the get-go. I don't know why they just don't listen! I hope with the hCG still increasing things are alright with our little bean.

Good luck Joy, if it helps any, I have a family member right now, that was just going through the same thing about 2 months ago, she went on the medication, and she is now 19weeks pregnant! Everything is fine, I know you recently had a miscarriage with the same problem, but hopefully this time it will work!
