Okay i will thank you guys!:)
It is not taking advantage! Women are entitled to have children when they want in life, it should not be dictated my your employer.. grrr little rant, my employer was the least sympathetic, understanding and accomodating boss. Which was funny considering I work in childcare!!
Anyway @gabbylovee talk to your employer and see what they will allow, like jkate57 said you will be able to use your annual/sick leave that you have accumulated, assuming that your are full time employee.
I think some mcdonalds might gabby, it matters whether you're corporate or independently owned.
I work there also and my supervisor said the only way to get paid on maternity leave is using my vacation days( as a manager) and getting short term disability.
Just looked it up if your still employed with them when u leave then u can get paid for maturninty leave thanks u guys for the help

Because my managar said some girls would take adavntage and leave for 6 months for maturnity leave because they still get paid
I don't think McDonald's gives those kinds of benefits
It depends what country/state you live in. I know in Australia that there are government paid parental leave schemes in place, but you have to qualify and be eligible to receive the money.
But maternity leave is generally unpaid.. I am now on unpaid leave for the next year, but once my baby is born I will receive my 5 month government pay.
I suggest doing some research into what is available to you.
No, maternity leave is not paid for at a place like McDonald's hunny.
