Question about hpts
I went to the doctor today for a bite on my leg. I came out finding out I'm pregnant. The doctor did not do blood work she said I would have to go to my OB for that. The test came out very faint positive. So I get home and tell hubby and I go back and get Clear Blue Pregnant / Not Pregnant test.
The doc got a faint positive but Clear Blue came back Not Pregnant.
My question is which do I believe. I figured I would take my other test in the morning.....any suggestions?

okay ladies.....i will retest.....I don't know when but I'm holding it for now.....haven't gone since.....445 so...we'll see....wish me luck!

Yes, that def would have something to do with it. I think Gina is right. I think with the combination of them (the digitals) needing a higher HCG level and the fact that you only did it for 5 sec instead of 20 def has something to do with it. 5 sec isn't long enough to saturate the stick. I would think that 5 sec would hardly get the thing wet!!! Ha ha!! I think you're pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would retest with fmu and even put it under there a little longer. Oh, and putting it in the cup is fine. That's how I always do my tests and I've had 5. Just make sure to lay it flat as soon as you are done with the cup part. Good luck and keep us posted!!!!
if you did not put it in the urine long enough then maybe it did not have a chance to pick up all the urine it actually needed. try again in the morning with first morn urine. if you can not wait, then at least hold you urine for 4 hours and try again
Congrats...sounds like a bfp to me...I'm sure the directions are there for a reason so if you don't follow them, it seems likely that you'd get an inaccurate response...Maybe you should wait till the a.m. and test with FMU? That would be the ideal situation...Good luck!
Hmm that could be it! They say 20 seconds for a reason :) I always dip mine in a couple seconds longer. So try it again!! Its possible 5 seconds wasnt enough!
would the amount of seconds have anything to do with it do ya think? I was suppose to do it for 20 seconds and only did it for 5.

Thats so odd because I dont see how the urine would come back positive if you weren't Pregnant. I think you are!! I was 12DPO when I got my BFP on an FRER. Than I used a Digital 2 days later and it said Pregnant! So maybe wait a couple days and test again or wait for your blood results. Either way I feel it, you're Preggo!! :)
Okay so I just read the clear blue to find out how much hcg needs to be and I did it wrong.
On the side of the box it says hold downward in urine stream for 5 seconds...so I put my urine in a cup then 5 seconds... instead of 20 (as the directions say) .do you think that has something to do with it.

i used a clear blue digital and it tested with only a hcg level of less than 25, so they are pretty accurate. i would call you OB and get an appointment asap.
The doc did a urine....and it came back faint positive. That's what I'm thinking...my LMP was 5/31. So....it would put me ovulating on the 18 or 19. I'm 12 DPO. So I would only be about 2 almost 3 weeks. Girl I'm so lost. Maybe my blood test tomorrow will tell me something. I won't know till wednesday though.

Well first off, did your doctors do a urine sample? Is that how they found out?? Because the urine sample could have picked up the HCG and the Digital I believe needs a HCG of 50 or more. I used the Clear Blue too but I made sure I waited a while before using it because it needs a higher volume of HCG. So possibly your HCG isn't high enough for it to detect?? But if the doctor says you're Pregnant, I'd say you are!!!
How many DPO are you? I would definitely test in the next morning or so just to see. I'm praying for you girl!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
