Hi there. I was previously on the contraceptive Depo Provera until July of 2008. Before I discontinued use, I would always receive my period the week before I received the shot. 7 months later, here I am still without a cycle. I figured it might take 3 months or so for my body to return back to normal cycles, but I didn’t expect it to take 7+ months. I've taken pregnancy test after pregnancy test and have come up with negatives every time. However, my body feels as if i am pregnant (sore breasts, morning sickness, lower back pain, mood swings, change in appetite, etc.). Two nights before Christmas I went to the E.R. due to abdominal pain that had started in the lower right section of my abdomen, in fear that I may have appendicitis. The doctor seemed concerned, but when the ct scan results came back he said that my appendix wasn't even visible in the scan and I simply had inflammation. At this point the pregnancy symptoms hadn't appeared, so I didn't really think about a possible ectopic pregnancy. However, the doctor did order me a pelvic exam and made a few worried looks and didn't mention it again. The nurse performed a urine pregnancy test before I got the ct scan. What I'm beginning to wonder is if I am currently ectopically pregnant and my hgc level isn’t high enough to detect in a urine test. Would a blood test be more accurate? And if I’m not pregnant, could my friend's pregnancy be giving me sympathy pains? I could really use some help here!
