i noticed that i had bumps on my stomach too, i saw them this morning idk if i am pregnant or not though, they are red and they do itch it looks more like a welt than bumps though bui do feel the bumps. i thought maybe something had bitten me though.
Thanks ladies! I know my skin is sensitive to soaps. I haven't changed anything in regards to that kind of stuff - perhaps I'm just a little more sensitive to the soap/cleansers now than I was before.
Either way, I'll just ask my doctor about it!
i got 2 little dime sized patch of bumps.....one right below my belly button and one on my hip about 3 weeks before i found out i was 5 weeks preggo......they were so itchy, but i kept them cleaned with just basic soap and water and i used baby lotion to help relieve the itching....they were gone before my first ob appt. so i was unable to let them see exactly what it was!!! but just an idea on relief options!!!!!!
I had the bumps on my legs TERRIBLE!! they itched SOO bad at night I would lay awake and itch and itch and itch until they bled. My doctor told me it was heat rash. They pretty much went away since I had Jadyn but every now and then they come back and drive me insane!
Roke- it may not even be sooo dramatic. It could be an allergic reaction to a new lotion that you are using or a new soap or something, pregnancy makes women hypersensitive to many things.
My skin has always been sensitive to cocoa butter but I thought I'd try it to "avoid" stretchmarks on my chest and boobs since they've gotten so huge, I also rubbed it on my belly. Anyway after a couple of days I developed a severe rash on my chest and it was sooo itchy, my belly was fine. But since I stopped it, it went away.
Call your Doctor but also try to see if there's anything different that you have been doing that may be causing this and it could be a simple as changing the lotion.
Great thanks ladies! I am definitely going to talk to my doctor about it!
AmyG89 - I would gladly have the name of that lotion.
They also could be as simple as heat rashes. Best to have your doctor take a look and see what they think it could be!
Even more rare than PUPPP is a skin condition called prurigo of pregnancy (or papular eruptions of pregnancy), which is characterized by many tiny bumps that may look like bug bites. These eruptions can occur anywhere on your body, but you're most likely to get them on your hands, feet, arms, and legs.
Although the eruptions can be itchy and annoying, prurigo of pregnancy appears to pose no risk to your baby. This condition generally starts around the beginning of the third trimester and may last for up to three months after you give birth.
Sounds like you have Keratosis Pilaris... it's very common. I get flare ups once in a while. The bumps appear on my upper arms and legs and are VERY itchy! I bought a skin cream from Neutrogena specifically for this. It actually says "for red bumps on arms and legs" in the name. It worked well but smells terrible! I'll go find it and post the exact name if your interested.
Do you have any pets? Could it possibly be flea bites?
I don't get many on my stomach - it's mostly on my arms.....
Sounds like it could be PUPPP...Up to 1 percent of pregnant women develop a condition characterized by itchy, red bumps and larger patches of a hive-like rash on their bellies. This is called pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP) or polymorphic eruption of pregnancy...Your doctor or midwife will want to see you for a diagnosis and will probably prescribe a topical ointment to give you some relief. She may also recommend an antihistamine. In severe cases, you may need a course of oral steroids.
PUPPP usually disappears within a few days after delivery, although it sometimes persists for several weeks.
