SWELLING and scared!!!!

Hi,

Just an update with me. I'm 20 weeks pregnant and for the last couple of days i've had pretty bad swelling in my hands, mainly in my fingers. My rings that usually are pretty loose are now getting tight on my fingers. It seems to be relieved a bit when i'm in the cold but when i'm hot or warm (which I seem to always be lately) they feel pretty puffy and my rings get pretty tight.  I'm just wondering if this is a normal occurence or should i be worried about things such as pre-eclampsia.  I had bad swelling last pregnancy in my feet but that didn't start until the last month of pregnancy. This seems really early for swelling to start but then again i'm no expert. My next appointment is March 02 and i have an u/s this Thursday so at least i'll be able to make sure baby is growing as should be.  If anyone can help with this i would really appreciate it. My b/p is up at the doctors (terrified of doctors, i have white coat syndrome) so its' always up at the doctors but i've been monitoring it at home and it's been fine.

Thanks in advance to anyone who take the time to answer my question :)

yeah i'll mention it at my next appointment.  thanks ladies :) that's not for two weeks though, as long as it's only swelling i'll wait, if anything else develops i'll call sooner.

I agree with worrieddd. My OB asks about swelling at every visit, so it's something they like to keep an eye on. It may be just something simple like water retention (which has happened to me) but it's best to let them know so they can watch it.

i would call the doctor hun...the say swelling of the hands & feet is a warning sign to call the doctor. it could be nothing but its better safe than sorry.
