Thank You for your responses! I love the PB idea ;) I eat it constantly anyway haha. I have a routine appt today and will be sure to mention it to the doctor.
I do get dizzy here and there from standing or sitting up too fast. It was just that when the symptoms were so severe it was a little unsettling.
Thanks again :)
Yes, I second the protein. It's the best thing to eat to relieve the symptoms and get the blood sugar back up. I keep those PB crackers in my purse.
I agree. BP and blood sugar are two common culprits. Since this happened when you were kneeling (was your head bowed?) and also when you went to stand this could very well be BP-related. BP actually drops during the 1st trimester and during the first part of the 2nd trimester and then begin to rise. If your BP is low and you move to a position that will lower it even further (suddenly standing for example) it can drop to a level that causes you to pass out (or come close to it). This happened to me twice during my pregnancy and I had the EXACT symptoms that you had expect rather than seeing colors I saw green flashing lights.
I agree with the other ladies. Make sure you are hydrated, and make sure you eat on a regular basis. Protein (peanut butter, meats etc.) is good. Also, be sure to mention this to your doctor at your next appointment.
It defiantly sounds like your blood sugar was low. It's happened to me lots of times, I've even blacked out. I always keep candy in my purse so if I feel it coming on I can pop one in until I get some food in me.
It could be that your blood sugar levels had dropped, if you hadn't eaten anything in a couple of hours. Eat infrequent, little meals/snacks. Make sure you are also drinking TONS of water; ditch caffeine, which can dehydrate you.
I get shaky and feel ill and hot if I don't eat often.
