I'm 20 years old. I had protected sex with my boyfriend on the 7th day of my period which was 4th july. I took two home pregnancy tests which turned out negative and a hospital test on 20th july, which was negative too. I got my period slightly late but I'm freaking out nevertheless. I have gained some belly fat in these 4 months and I occasionally feel nauseous. I get my periods every month but is there any chance that I could be pregnant?

Periods can be short as 2 days,I myself used to have 5 day periods now it would only last a day and half.this isnt a problem.since not every women has a 28 day cycle. the time from ovulating to period is called your luteal phase this is always 14-16 days.providing you have ovulated of course..previous poster is correct in saying you need to understand your cycle.so it will help to determine best time to concieve.but I dont think you should worry.

Well you should worry about why it just stopped but sure you're not pregnant. Your egg gets fertilized while in the fallopian tube and when you're on your period the egg is passing through your uterus, I don't think it's possible for it to get fertilized in the uterus at all. You should read about the menstrual cycle and get familiar with your own cycle so you know about the time that's greatest for you to get pregnant. So if you don't want to be you can avoid sex during that time or if you want to be you know when is best for sex. The day you're most fertile is about the 14th day of your cycle (which is 14 days after the first day of your period or 14 days before the first day of your next) but everything I have read and heard from the doctor and learned in school says that that is NOT the only time you can get pregnant it's just when you're most likely to get pregnant. Anyway, if your period only lasted for one day you should check with your doctor to find out what's going on but I'm pretty sure you couldn't be pregnant.

No you need to be ovulating, normally this happens 14 days before your period.
