I am going tomorrow for an ultrasound and I will be 16 1/2 weeks. I know it is possible to find out the sex of the baby by now but when I asked my doctor if he thought they would be able to tell he said "Maybe" so my question is...
How many of you have had an ultrasound at 16 weeks and they couldn't tell the gender? And why? Was it because the baby was not in the right position or because it just wasn't clear enough yet?
I've seen a few ladies on these forums who found out at 15 weeks. I think it depends on how skilled the ultrasound tech is and how cooperative the baby is. Like you said, sometimes the baby's not in the right position. Also, boys are easier to point out than girls!!
Wow, I cant believe you are already 16w!! How time flys! anyways....I had a u/s at 15w1d and my dr. did try but we were not able to find out because of the unbillacorded(sp) was between the legs........Good Luck :o) What are you hoping for??
yay...i really hope they can tell. I dont go to my doctor I actually go to a different doctor who i assume has the best equipment and techs (for the screening) so hopefully it will go well. Hubby and I both want a girl just because we already have a boy...but we will be very happy either way. At this point I just want to know. I'm going to be crushed if we get there and they cant tell. :( Waiting 4 more weeks is gonna stink. LOL My 4 year old son on the other hand is really wanting a boy. So in that sense I want him to be happy as well. I know God will bless us with what ever he sees fit for our family. I'll update yall tomorrow afternoon and let everyone know the results. My appointment is at 9:30 but I doubt i'll have time to get on until about 4:30 or so. Wish me luck!!!
hum...i found out may 20th.....so that was, 16 or 17 weeks? but i guess i "knew" i wasnt even surprised when doc said boy hehe.....but i know my friend is only like 14 nearly 15, and they could tell baby is a boy from the angle he was at.....i think she's 15(well she founf out nearly 2 weeks ago), and due on t'giving.....so maybe she's more than i think....
that makes me so excited. I have a feeling it's a boy. Guess we will just have to wait and see. I had a dream lastnight it was a boy....With my son I KNEW the night before it was a boy....I dind't even need to ultrasound. This time i'm not so positive.
You should most def be able to tell.... Ohhh I cant wait until you know..... I really can't believe that you are 16.5 weeks... Man how time flies.. My little man is already almost 5 weeks and it seems like I just had him the other day.... Keep me posted....
I got a gender "guess" at about 16w and the baby wasn't showing the goods well enough. he kept hiding. Doc's first guess was girl since we didn't see any boy goods, but then the baby flipped around (Thanks to me moving my stomach around!) and we saw what looked like a boy's parts. Later on it was verified via amnio and another u/s to be all male!
My best friend is an Ultrasound Tech and she said the earliest she's been able to tell the Sex was 13 weeks!! I was like WHAT!? But she said its rare...the baby just happened to be spread eagle and it was very obvious. But I'm sure if it was a girl they wouldn't have been able to tell. But she's told a couple boys at 13 weeks and than she said they normally confirm the sex at 15 weeks! So I definitely think you'll be finding out tomorrow! YAY! Can't wait to hear what you're having!!
If the technology is up to date and your little one co-operates then yeah you should be able to tell what sex the baby is. I cant believe you are 16 weeks already it only seems like a few weeks ago you posted that you got your BFP!!!! Blimey time flies dosent it!
