Sex the night before IUD removed.. Could I be pregnant?

When I got pregnant with my son I literally started to feel different about a week later.  We went to the store and bought the earliest prediction pregnancy test I could find. It was very light but showed pregnant.  My son is almost 3 and I have had the mirena in for almost that long.  The plan was to practice safe sex until September so we can have a summer baby. My husband and I decided to have one last night of sex the night before I had my mirena removed.  I had the mirena removed the next morning and I have been feeling very different.  I have heard that sperm can live for 5 days.  Should I be worried or do you think the mirena would have prevented it that night??

Thanks guys I really appreciate your input.  I feel a lot better to hear that from someone who's been there.  Have a wonderful day.  :-)

I had the mirena as well and removed.  If you speak to any of the ladies on here (women's health forum "how long did it take you to conceive afer mirena iud removal post) you will know that it is very common to have pg symptoms after removal and can last for months.  You will swear you are pregnant over and over again.  Mirena removal plays funny tricks on you.  Good luck on your journey!

Mirena most likely would have prevented it. Because mirena is hormonal birth control it can take a while for it to get out of your system. Because you had it removed is probably the reason you are feeling so weird. Wait until 2 weeks after you had sex and test since it should be accurate by then.
