Should I be concerned, because I am SCARED to death!

I hate to keep asking questions, but I'm new to this pregnancy thing and I'm scared because I've had a previous m/c.  I got my pregnancy confirmed Monday and they said I'm 4 weeks.  I had my HCG drawn and it was 289.  The nurse called back today and said no need to redraw just keep my appt with the doctor to do my blood work on Monday.  Then she called back and said I probably need to go get checked again that she'd check with the doctor and call me back.  Well, she called me back and now she said the doctor for sure wants me to go and get a hormone check (which I assume is the HCG) and another blood pregnancy test.  Why?  I understand that the HCG is needed because if it's not doubling then something is wrong, which is what happened to me before.  Now I'm scared something is wrong.  This time around is totally different than before.  Before I didn't even know I was pregnant...I had no symptoms.  Now I have symptoms, which I thought was a good sign.  Please anyone have any advice??

Thanks ladies.  That eases my mind.  I guess I really got upset about having to take another blood pregnancy test.  In my mind I thought they wanted me to do that to see if I'm still pregnant.  But, maybe that's their way of saying HCG draw?

Don't worry about asking too many questions. That's what the forum is for!!! Doesn't make you stupid or anything. Makes you responsible.

To answer your question, she may have called you without checking with the doc, then the doc was like, "Hey why'd you tell her that? I want to check the levels". So it was probably an office communication prob and nothing to do with you. If you've had a loss before, they are probably just checking everything over thoroughly to make sure your levels are rising!

Preg. symptoms are a good sign!

Hi, i agree with nikko on this.  They probley are just double checking your progesterone levels.

Good luck

I went twice for my HCG. The first time, my numbers were 648.37 and then two days later they were 1133. But you said "hormone check" maybe they not only want to check your HCG levels but your progesterone which is very important in early pregnancy. Maybe he just wants to rule that out as the reason for the miscarraige last time. Don't worry everything sounds like it is going good, the test will be more reassuring.
