Every pregnancy is different so all inductions are different asB well. I was induced at 41 weeks had no pain at all! The contractions were tolerable and I didn't need an epidural. It was 48 hours of labor but everything was perfect.
I've had 2 inductions and unless I can get an epidural there is no way I would ever induce again. It's forcing your body to do something its not ready to do, PP was right the rates of c section are much higher following inductions. Your body made this baby, trust that your body can birth it and knows when the time is right.
I was induced with 2 of my kids and it was the best thing ever!!!. I got to the hospital at 5am. At 6 am. They started the iv meds the dr. Came in at 7am.and broke my water and at 7:20am. My baby was here so less than 2 hrs of labor. Almost same with my other I loved it!
Contractions are more aggressive when you get induced. I remember begging for my epidural at only a 3 dialated! With my first I wasn't asking for it until I was at a 6. I had a bad experience and I will not get induced again unless I absolutely have to.
FTM and I'm going to refuse if they offer it to me tomorrow. 39w5d
my mum was induced and had a horrible time and still didn't dialate after 48 hrs and ended up in a c section anyways. I've heard too many bad things to go for it if it isn't needed. Not saying all inductions go bad, of course.
I would not induce unless there is a medical reason. C-section rates in first time mom's being elective induction is so high!!! I'm a labor and delivery nurse and a FTM at 32 weeks and I won't be induced unless I get to 41 weeks
You are very lucky I'm a ftm and 39+1 weeks and I haven't dilated or thinned and when I brought up being induced they told me that they won't do it. The only reason I asked about it though is because my son is already 8-9 pounds and I'm a very small girl and only got a belly from my pregnancy and am nervous about not being able to vaginally deliver him.
