Sleep????

I'm 25 wks and have been having problems sleeping at night, i read that you should not sleep on your back because it's bad for the baby so i sleep on my side but i turn over through the night from one side to the other and when i do this it feels like I'm pushing a truck like my stomach weigh 100 pounds and my pelvic area hurts and this is and every night thing.

hey...  i'm actually one of those women who end up on their belly's in the middle of the night!!!  its just like ending up on your back, you kinda can't help it!  i found that one of the body pillows that wrap around you helps a lot!  my mom got me one online from jcpenny (kinda like a snoogle body pillow) last pregnancy and i loved it!  the only thing is it separates you from dh.  so i would snuggle (or whatever) w/ dh first, then when it was time to go to sleep i would get my pillow out.  for me this pillow worked the best b/c you put your head on the part that curls up around your shoulders and then it goes behind your back so you don't roll backwards during the night then the bottom part curls up between your legs to support yourself and not roll on your tummy.  its great!!!  and then after delivery you can use it like a boppy pillow to prop your newborn up.  the only downside was when i got towards the end of the pregnancy and i find it hard to get out of it to rush to the bathroom in the middle of the night!  sorry this was so long but when i really like a product i think could help someone i have to share.  like i said its kinda like a snoogle body pillow you can get at target or babies r us or i got mine online at jcpenny.com.

Yes it's a difference between the two, I carried my daughter high and was able to move around good, i can barely get around with this boy because he is sitting low. I only feel the kicks at the very bottom of my stomach and it sometimes feels like he's trying to kick his feet out of me.

Ya know, everyone thought I was crazy, saying it was different between boys and girls!! Now I know I'm not alone.....I have 2 boys, and I'm pregnant with my girl, finally!! With the boys, I barely slept once I hit like 24 weeks, and when I did, it was on my side with a pillow between my legs, and another pillow under my belly to balance me out. For some reason, the boys were so low compared to the girl, that it really hurt my back to lay any other way. With this one, wow, I can sleep on my back, on my belly, on my head....lol...ok not really, but I bet I could try!!! I haven't had any issues with her!! Good luck on getting comfy girl, I really feel for ya!!!

Oh, you don't have to get the full body pillow if you don't want.  I know those can get expensive but if you plan on having more, it may be worth it to go ahead and get it.  That wedge pillow is for tummy only and should only run you about $10 or so.  The pillow I put between my legs was just regular pillows for your head that we use to sleep with.

Oh my i hope it don't get worse, I was really trying to avoid going to the store to buy the body pillow b/c i couldn't see where it help but i will go to baby's R Us and buy one and hopefully get some descent sleep at night.

I wasn't told not to sleep on my back with my daughter and I'm sure i did and there were no problems...and then again my pregnancy with her was smooth no pain & aches but now I'm having a boy and It's much different.

Hey well I've heard it's not good to sleep on your back and yes to sleep on your side, but actually my doctor said it's not as harmful to the baby as it seems.  I try to sleep on my side, but there's just times where I  wake up on my back.  Some pregnant women can actually sleep on their belly and balance themselves, but I can't do that.

I wish I could give you some comfort but this is perfectly normal and unfortunatly will probably get worse as you get further along.  When I am pregnant, the further along I get, the more miserable I get.  One thing that helped me a little (and I do mean a little) was to lay on my side and put a pillow between my legs.  This helped take some of the pressure off of my lower back.  I also got this pregnancy pillow that's in the shape of a wedge; kind of like the shape of a door stop.  Anyway, that goes under your tummy while you are on your side and that helped some too.  It was only about 10 bucks at Babys R Us; maybe not even that much.  Hang in there girl.....
