Sleeping/Insomnia Problems in the First Trimester

Okay ladies, so I will be 8 weeks on Sunday and I am having the worst insomnia that I have had in years. I usually can take Tylenol PM (in excess) to help me sleep but since I have become pregnant again I don't know what I can take... Anyone have any suggestions? I figure I can talk to my fertility doctor and ask what I can take for my non-sleeping problem... I have the safe list they gave me at my ultrasound last week, but of course, nothing for sleeping problems.

Ask your doctor about taking melatonin supplements.  It's a synthetic version of the bodies natural sleep regulating chemical.

Oh wow I was wondering about the Tylenol PM because I used to take it before, because I was prescribed Trazadone (serious tranquilizer) for my terrible insomnia for the last 6 years but it is definitely not safe during pregnancy. I know that Tylenol PM will work but I think I am going to need a longer solution and I go back to my doctor on Friday for a follow up u/s so I will be sure to ask her then :)

I had terrible insomnia when I was pregnant.  Mostly in the first trimester.  I think it's due to the changing in hormones.  You can take Tylenol PM during pregnancy, however, my doctor only recommended taking it once or twice a week.  She also said she could prescribe me ambien if the Tylenol didn't work.
