Smoking

Does anyone still smoke weed while pregnant? I used to smoke when I was like 15 weeks. But I stopped. I'm 23 weeks now & I want to smoke a joint sooooo bad. But I don't want to hurt my baby. If it even does hurt the baby. Any Advice???

If you need it medically, smoke.
For bad morning sickness, blood pressure problems, anxiety, or depression, its much better then those nasty pharmacuticals. Also the comments about "so and so smoked their whole pregnancy and they came out smarter and blah blah"
I know women who chainsmoked cigarettes Nd their babies were fine, that doesnt mean to pick up the habit.
Same with alcohol. Its all just the gamble.
I dont support women who just smoke just to smoke because its "okay"
Like one said above, pesticides, being laced and other factors contribute as well as the smoke. Vaping is a different thing but if you live in the illegal states a vaporizor is a a pain in the *** to find & expensive.
Fyi smoking ANYTHING deprives your baby of oxygen, i wouldnt do it unless i was in need.

I quit smoking regularly around the same time you did and smoking occasionally isn't going to harm your baby. Also, considering how long it's been since you last smoked, you probably won't even need to smoke a whole joint. You could probably hit it once or twice and be good. At the end of the day it's your personal decision! Personally I don't even enjoy smoking anymore after I quit because my tolerance is so low now and I get waaay to high waaay to fast.

There is absolutly nothing wrong with smoking cannabis while pregnant. It's a natural herb that has been used to subside symptoms for centuries

Vape instead of smoking. Inhaling the SMOKE constricts blood vessels, THC itself isn't the super harmful part.

I'm not going to smoke, I was just having a weak thought. I don't want to harm my baby.  I also did some online research on it. There's alot of Uncertainty about the issue.  Thanks for all the opinions.

Just to add in my personal experience, my mom smoked with my sister and I and we came out perfectly healthy, have no issues at all. My Dr told me to smoke for my anxiety but I stopped once I was about 18 weeks (im now 27 weeks) and my baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead, is extremely healthy and I have been told numerous times by my ultrasound tech and Dr to keep doing whatever I'm doing because he's doing better than most. I think its worse to be stressed and sick than it is to puff on a vaporizer or joint. MY PERSONAL OPINION. I also have numerous friends who smoked their entire pregnancy and their children are more developmentally advanced than others.

My mom smoked weed pregnant with both me n my brother, and we're completely fine nothing wrong at all.. super healthy people..
I personally don't smoke weed, before and definitely not now since I'm pregnant, but I'm around my family that smokes it all the time.. and I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

my OB's nurse just informed me last week I'd be given drug tests.. if I were to test positive it'd definitely be reported & my baby could be taken from me. I don't smoke, but I'm just saying.. I live in South Carolina.

oh, and smoking anything does deprive the baby of oxygen.. just a fact.
no judging here though. I just wouldn't do it.

A woman just got arrested in Tennessee because she was using drugs while pregnant and they counted it as assault on the fetus.

Not all weed is safe it can be laced with other drugs more harmful drugs and people do do that so you can't say it isn't harmful and if the grower uses pestisides and you smoke it that goes into your system..THC isn't even good for you let alone a baby ..there are studies that show babies born to women who smoked throughout their pregnancy are at a higher risk of not only what I listed previously but also leukemia , nervous system defects , and learning disabilities ...this info came straight from an article written by a doctor in pharmaceuticals quoting studies done by several universities

I don't smoke weed but smoking or drinking anything when pregnant seems selfish since you're sharing your body with a helpless baby. I've heard that it can cause birth defects and premature births. Also, when the doctor takes blood and what not they drug test you I know a lot of states drug test in the hospital too. If the tests are positive CPS will be paying you a visit or worse they just not let you take the baby home. As tough as it may be, just ignore the urge and fight through it. Good luck on your pregnancy :)

Tennessee is hard core lol. It's not a laughing matter she should check her state laws. In Ga cps will visit u some time after birth with surprise drug test now that's no fun.

a_love its the actual smoke that's the damaging part not the marijuana hence why your friends baby had low birth weight. I was born 4pounds 5 ounces at full term my mom smoked while prego with me all I can think of is the smoke being harmful not that actual marijuana. It's not like the nicotine in cigs u know blah. We all just have to push through for 9 to 10 months of our lives

I also want you to know just for future reference and so you can spread the word that there is a law know that if your baby pops positive for drugs when its born you can legally be arrested for assault now..I wouldn't want to see this happen to someone and or a baby ..Tennessee arrested their first mother like a week ago ...so please please make sure you know all the repercussions of what you choose..

There are no definitive side effects from weed that we know of BUT I have a few close friends who have smoked their whole pregnancy and multiple pregnancies and their children have birth defects born early and low birth weight so I mean if you wanna chance it then I guess that's up to you but honestly I wouldn't....just because we don't know for sure what kind of effects it has in babies yet doesn't mean there isn't proof around us..be smart and think of your little one

U should watch an episode of misbehaving mums on YouTube and u will understand what smoke does to little one. It's your choice you know. No one can judge you on what you do just know what u are doing to baby before u do it. I would love to burn one lol but I'm waiting till she is born.

I want to smoke a blunt but I read that its bad for the baby growth and more likely to be in nicu. But just for you info they drug test you when you go to the doctors and if you pop up possative for marijuana for more than 2 or 3 times be prepared to cps to be paying you a visit on your delivery day. They dont tell you that they drug test you but just be aware. I know for sure they do that in California but since I'm in texas I'm assuming they probably do the same. But I'm most likely going back to California when my fiance deploys. Just be careful
