Somethings Wrong With Me.....

As you all know, a few weeks ago I went about 55 days in between AFs the last one was short for me like 25 days and I normally have a 32-33 day cycle. Sorry if TMI... Well AF stayed around for two weeks with spotting and light at first, then really heavy with lots of large clots (usually I have the smaller ones) well it finally stopped on Sunday, then just a few min ago, I had some bright red bleeding no clots but its really worring me, I have never had anything like this before and I am just an emotional wreck. I called my OBGYN and they want me to come in to the drs office in the morning, since this all has been going on. She told me its not normal and thats all she would say. Now my hubby and I are worring and scared that somethings wrong and we might not get to have that third baby we are both wanting. I just want to sit and cry. Please someone reassure me that it could be normal or something thats able to be fixed without having to go onto BC. I really had my hopes up this month. Its just been a rough few days, between my great uncle passing away, but thank goodness my baby girl is better. Sorry I wrote a book, but I needed someone to talk to that would understand what I am going through.

Just an update, my OBGYN said everything was normal and that I had a uterine infection, that should be cleared up in a week and everything should be back to normal. Thank Goodness!!! He said we should be able to conceive again naturally and that it could happen soon!!! Yippee!! So I am so excited! Congrats to all of the new moms and good luck to all of you trying to conceive.

I have not been on BC in over 18 months.

He did mention when I went to the dr for a pregnancy test a few months ago that I could be pregnant and it not showing up, could this be just my body trying to get back to norm. To be honest I have never had anything like this go on, these past few months I have had some major cramping. I do know that my mom had to have a complete hystorectomy at the age of 23 and I am almost 25, she had endrometrioses (sp?) thats always been a worry to me.  I have charted this past month just incase and I figure he might want me to keep charting to see if we can figure out what it is.

Joy:
I wonder if they thought that too, I am a little overweight from my previous pregnancies and I just can't loose the weight. I do have diabetes in the family and I check my sugar (wasn't told to, but just do it) once a week if I feel bad and sometimes its a lil low.  I was mis-diagnosed with it by a doctor that was not a gyn or obgyn since I had a few of the symptoms and was overweight. When I started going to the my current obgyn, he said that they were wrong and he didn't see any signs or the common symptoms in me. He did say I had some scar tissue. So I am wondering if it could be that.

This happened to me. My periods would last two weeks (in varying degrees of heaviness). I have a hormonal imbalance/PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). PCOS is not life threatening and is treatable (if you have it). Let me ask you some questions:

-Is it hard for you to lose weight? Or gain weight?
-Do you have hair loss (from your head)?
-Do you have hair growth on your face, chest, or down your stomach?
-Do you feel crampy all of the time or most of the time?
-Are your periods irregular?

If you can answer yes to some of those, you may have PCOS. Your doctor will do a blood test to determine where your hormones are. Then they'll do an ultrasound and a glucose/insulin test. PCOS can cause insulin resistance. But PCOS is different in every woman.

My PCOS is just high testosterone and a few little cysts on my ovaries (again, not life threatening). My glucose and insulin are perfect.

I take Metformin (also known as Glucophage) and so far, so good. It is a diabetic medication but it has been found to be helpful in getting rid of ovarian cysts and causing women to resume regular ovulation.

Hopefully it is just stress. He may want to just regulate you. When I came off of the depo shot I had to take the pill for a few months until my periods started coming normally. Let me know how it goes.

Hey - a similar situation happened to me.  When I came off of birth control I had a normal cycle (30 days) , with normal period, then I had a 49 day cycle with heavy flow during AF.  I was TTC, so I had been to OB/GYN and he wanted me to chart my BBT, so I can know when (and if) I was ovulating, b/c my cycles had been so screwed up after being on bc for almost 3 years.  so I charted and ovulated on CD 28 and conceived.  SO it would have been a 42 day cycle.

My OB said sometimes our bodies need time to adjust to changes and sometimes they just do wacky things for no reason, however I conceived with irregular cycles, so maybe ask your OB about charting temps to ensure ovulation and when ovualtion occurs.
