Spotting and AF Question

Me again!  ;)  If you had light spotting that lasted for 4 days and led straight into full force AF....when would you count the start of AF?  When the spotting started or when the "normal" AF bleeding came?  I've NEVER spotted before so I wasn't sure how to count my days this cycle.
THANKS!

Thanks Rozy!!  I am worried about a short luteal phase...that's why counting AF on the 18th/19th is MUCH better than the 15th when I just had my spotting!  Unfortunately I didn't read about B6 until just a few days ago.  I went ahead and started taking 100mg but I know it's probably too late to do any good for THIS cycle if I do have LPD.  :(  I figured it was worth a shot though.  I'm hoping my spotting is a one time occurance.  It has never happened before and hopefully it won't happen again!  Thanks again!

Most things I've read says not to count it as AF until the true red bleeding starts.  I spot for 3-5 days or so before AF almost every month, I don't count the spotting but it does put my O date pretty late, around CD 19.

I have another post from a few days back... I was doing some reading and found that women who spot before AF may have low progesterone, and low progesterone is also a factor in very short luteal phases.  If it isn't a regular occurrence, I wouldn't worry about that too much becuase in something like 1/39 women, it happens occasionally and is just a fluke occurrence.  Even if it happens pretty regularly, it' very treatable by your OBGYN.  Most recommendations are to supplement wth B6 and see if that helps regulate your cycle.

Since I'm not sure when to count the start of AF...and since I can't remember if it was the 18th or 19th that full force AF showed up...I'll just say AF should arrive between Sept. 12-16.  :)  I'll probably start testing on the 12th.  :)  SSBD TO BOTH OF US!!!

This was my first m/c. So getting a BFN slapped me into reality really quick, i was so down last month about getting a BFN, i dont want to feel that disappointed ever again. So all i can do is hope i get a BFP, if not, i still have up until age 35 to get preggo.(hopefully sooner than later) I just think from now on, during ovulation time(if i dont get a bfp) im just going to bd 5days b4 ovulation everyday up until the day after ovulation.  Well im wishing you lots of luck and ssbd, when do u expect af to show?

Yes!  That's exactly why I was curious.  I think you're right...I probably O'd at a more "normal" time than I thought because I was counting my spotting as AF.  If I correct my counting, I O'd on CD15 instead of CD19.  Big difference!  Makes me feel a little better about my weird cycles lately.

3am BDing...now THAT is determination!!  LOL!  We are going to TRY again tonight...hopefully with more success.  :(  You have such a great attitude about TTC this month.  It's awesome how positive you are.  I still, unfortunately, have too much pressure on myself for a BFP this month.  I need to start being more realisitic so I don't go into major depression with a BFN.

Actually, i dont beleive in pre AF, i count from the point i start bleeding because to me that is an indication that my linning is breaking down and just a little has came out at the time. Did you count the day you actually started having a heavy flow, if you did, that could explain why u think you ovulated late. Let me no. Well i sure did ovulate today, had bad pains this am, DF finally woke up at 3am, lol im hoping we can do it again in an hour, he looks so exhausted lol
