Starting to feel Contractions?

I am 38+4, 2cm dilated and 100% effaced. My doctor stripped my membrane this morning and made it very clear to me that he felt she would be here any day with how low she was. He also informed me that he did not want me to wait until my contractions were bad because he feels that this delivery will be quick. He didn't explain why he felt this way but was very serious about it. I'm having tightning under my ribs and period cramps, is this pressure under my ribs the start of contractions? I understand the purpose of contractions is to move the baby down and out; this is why I am wondering if it's normal to feel this pain right above where she sits.

I ate before I went in but I almost didn't make it. If you want to eat and take a shower do that but remember This sounds like it is already going fast. Remember you're already at a 2:)

I really wanted to be in the comfort of my home until it was unbarable, right now it's bar able but I don't understand why he doesn't want me to wait. Would it be bad if I did wait a little? What could make him ask me not to wait? Is it safe to take a shower in advance, can I eat before I go in?

With my son that's how my contractions felt. With my daughter I was in false labor for hrs which hurt far worse then true labor. And with my last son it was my ribs and cramping and couldn't talk while having one. Congrats momma and please keep us posted

I had period cramps since about half an hour after he stripped my membrane, about an hour ago my stomach got rock hard and about 30 min ago this tightening started it's constant but it's worse at some point and then lightens up and then gets bad again. It's happening every few min though but I'm not dying of pain here and have no clue of I should wait and see if they get unbarable or not
