I've never had swelling before and all of a sudden today my hands and feet are swollen. This morning I put my rings on just fine and a few minutes ago I had to use soap to get them off. Both hands and both feet are all puffy. What is that and what can I do to make it go away? I'm 28 weeks.
rest and ur left side a d elevate ur feet I know with the heat and such it will cause swelling but i I would call ur dr in the am to let them know and possiblily check ur BP. that happened with my last pregnancy at 36 wks and I was induced at 37 wks due having high BP. good luck
I would def call your doctor and let him know at least. It may be nothing but it may not be. Unfortunately, you just never know. If anything out of the ordinary happens to ME, I call and let my doctor/nurse know.
Again, it may just be pregnancy in the heat and may not mean anything. I can get swollen from just the heat alone when I am NOT pregnant. But it could so I would at least put a call in, if the other suggestions haven't helped you.
My SIL gets pre-eclampsia almost every time and she rarely has had symptoms. She is normally at her regular appt. and then bam, she has to be induced right away. With her first, he had to come out a month early because of it. With the next, she made it until the week of her due date but still had the pre-eclampsia at the last minute and had to be induced. With another, she had to be induced a couple of weeks early because of it. There's one more I am missing that I am not sure about for her, but you get the picture :)
I mean, you don't have a history of it, but I just always like to be on the safe side. Hopefully u are feeling better now and won't have to even worry about it. Be sure to drink tons of liquids and be careful w/ the salt. May also want to prop your legs up.
Thanks for the advice in the meantime I did put my feet up and drink a ton of water. I was planning on calling the ob in the morning since this crept up so late in the day, but now I'm having contractions about every 5 minutes so it looks like I may get my bp checked tonight ;-(
