Suggestion/Advice/Opinions...Please let me know what you think!

I am pregnant with my 5th baby...EDD is December 2nd however this past Wednesday I was 3cm dilated and 80% effaced.

I have been having terrible BH contractions for over 2mths now.  I have never had contractions this bad until this pregnancy.  I also have a lot pressure down there...so much until I'm sore for days as if I've had sex for days in a row with no break.  The baby has been head down for around 2mths now.

First question is....if there is anyone that has been 3cm and 80% effaced...how long before you went into true labor?

Second question is....When I went to the doctor last week she mentioned something about stripping/sweeping the membranes for me if I wanted on the next visit (Tuesday, November 17th-will be 38 weeks) or either the very next visit which will put me at 39 weeks.  Should I get this done?  They did it with my first daughter and I went into labor the same day, however, I have heard more people say that it doesn't work for them...please advise.

I think this is all my questions for now but of course you never know...lol!!

Thank you!

I was 3cm for weeks in previous pregnancies.

It's your choice on the membrane sweep. Honestly I would wait until the 39th week appointment or later to do this. Pregnancy is 40 weeks for a reason and you want that baby to stay in for as long as they safely can!

Good luck!
