I found an older article on this, but perhaps it might help. Seems like researching your odds and factoring them all out would be a good option.

Definitely let us know any other information you find that you think might be helpful for others trying to make the same decision.
I just got the shot last week. I am almost 40 weeks pregnant. I figured it was worth the risk because there is nothing worse than being sick and having to take care of a newborn. And I wouldn't want to give the flu to my baby either. Totally a personal decision.
No body can tell any thing sure about this. Tell your friend to get the vaccine after consulting to her doctor and she should also follow the preventive measures in order to avoid swine flu.

I'm actually in 2 minds about getting this shot, I only know 2 of my pregnant friends who have received it, one of which was fine n Lisa the other was in hospital for 5 days with extremely bad vomiting dizziness n the rest, so I don't know, :/
I think she should definitely get the shot with there being an outbreak where she lives. i just recently got the shot as recommended by my dr and was only tired for a few hours but no other ill side effects. as long as she doesnt get the mist up her nose but gets the shot in her arm she should be fine!
It is considered to be safe during pregnancy. I am an advocate of it, but many people do not feel comfortable getting it. Especially if there is an outbreak of flu in her area, the benefits of the shot certainly outweigh the risks.
The baby can get a flu shot after 6 months. Until the baby is old enough to receive it, it is recommended that all people who come in to close contact with the baby get the flu shot to provide a cocoon of protection.
Hi
I am going to get the jab after the new year and so should your friend. It is not so much for the baby but for herself.
If your friend contracts the swine flu she can get very ill as her immune systom is not as great due to the pregnancy which can make her very ill, it can cause phumonia which can harm the baby.
I think the baby can have the jab whet is born or aa certain age even your friend t, she should ask her dr about this.
I am worried about this myself too. But i am going to have the vaccine.
