I tracked my wife period (it was regular) and tried to get pregnant. she got pregnant & everything was fine and at early state we did Beta-hcg and ultrasound. it was positive.
in 9th week she feels blood spotting and we talk to doctor and doctor did utlrasound and beta-hcg. report comes like 5+ week baby!!! no baby's body made and no heartbeat. it still a sac. doctor suggest us to do DENC :(!!! we talk another 2 doctors and they advice to wait 7 more days. we are running in this horrible times :(
any expert advice or is there any body who has/had this same problem. Please pray for us.
I went in for my 8 weeks and it turn out to be 6 weeks too, due to my irregular cycle. I did manage to get a heartbeat even at 6 weeks, thanks goodness for that. Otherwise I would had been so worry too. Some doctor won't even look for it until you're 8 or 10 weeks since it's a little too early to find it for sure. You going back in two weeks right? Stay positive, sometime a week made a big difference. Sending prayer your way.
They count the weeks that the baby measures and it is usually correspondant to your last period. However if you have a long cycle or you ovulated late it could put your dates off. If you are measuring 5 weeks 5 days this means you would have conceived 3 weeks 5 days ago but if your last period was 8 weeks ago this doesnt sound right. Do you know when you conceived? If you know for sure then add 2 weeks on to this date and this should be how far along you are. If it doesnt add up with the ultrasound dates then it doesnt sound promising.
Have they said they will do another scan in a week or so? I really hope that they find a heartbeat for you and that your dates were just off. If you go back in a week and still no heartbeat ask to wait for another week or so before you decide anything. Sometimes the heartbeat just cant be seen at 6/7 weeks. I just googled this....
Answers to common questions related to an ultrasound exam:
If an ultrasound is done at 6 to 7 weeks and a heartbeat is not detected, does that mean there is a problem? No it does not mean there is a problem. The heartbeat may not be detected for reasons that include: tipped uterus, larger abdomen, or inaccurate dating with last menstrual period. Heartbeats are best detected with transvaginal ultrasounds early in pregnancy. Concern typically develops if there is no fetal heart activity in an embryo with a crown-rump length greater than 5mm. If you receive an ultrasound exam after week 6, your healthcare provider will begin to be concerned if there is no gestational sac.
From reading this the fact that they saw a sac looks promising so hopefully your dates are just off. Fingers crossed for u! x
Same happened to me... could mean u ovulated late... wait a week and go back for another u/s that's the only way to know for sure
That's exactly what happened to me and they tried to convince me that I was probably just off on dates of when my last period was. Well that wasn't true because I was tracking periods and ovulation because I wanted to be pregnant. They date from your last period so of you are sure of your dates then it doesn't seem like it will end well. I miscarried...saw the heartbeat at 8 weeks and lost the baby at almost 10 :(
when i had my 1st ultrasound they went by the size the baby was measuring i thought i was 15 weeks but they had set me back to 13 weeks by the way the baby measured
