And vaginal thrush usually doesn't look like anything, maybe swollen/red, it's a yeast infection, thrush of the mouth is a yeast infection as well, not anything to worry about traveling though.
I forgot you even had your baby, I was assuming it was you that had thrush, haha! My son had thrush when he was about 2 months old, no immune system problems, but it was very, very painful for him. He'd eat and eat and eat because the sucking soothed the pain, and then he'd get an upset stomach. His looked like white splotches around his mouth/tongue. His doctor gave him antibiotics, and suggested we sterilized his bottles after every feeding (he wasn't breastfed at this time), and wipe his tongue down with a finger tooth brush after each feeding, and he never got t again!
It isn't exactly harmful but can be painful and cause a baby to not want to eat. If breastfeeding you can also get it on your nipples and hear that can be painful as well.
Google some pictures of oral thrush, sometimes babies have white looking tongues just from the milk, my sons tongue looked a little white but it wasn't thick and it went away on it's own. If it is thrush they will typically just give some oral nystatin and you squirt it into the mouth on each side of the tongue.
It is white in color and usually is pasty looking. There is usually no fever or anything else involved. Were you on antibiotics when you delivered?
What does it look like????
Thrush is a yeast infection typically found in a baby's mouth. Whatever you do don't scrape it out but do go to the doctor for some medicine to clear it up.
Yes, the baby is who im talking about. I dont know what Thrush looks like. But my mom said I had thrush and that my babys mouth looked the same. What does trush look like?
alexus, is this the baby that has thrush? They can clear that up with an anti fungal thing. The thrush itself isn't really harmful to the baby but it's usually an indication of an ineffective immune system. Was your baby born a preemie?
My babys tounge is white.. And my mom said that it could be thrush..
well I was talking about oral. Whats it look like for vaginal?
What kind of thrush? There's oral, vaginal? It's just an infection, can easily be cleared up with an antibiotic, I'm assuming probably vaginal.
