Time to get busy

I didn't think those ovulation sticks were working but I just got my double lines today that say I'm ovulating....yay. It's CD 24 for me. I'm not going to get too excited thou b/c I think my luteal phase is too short to support implantation. It was brought to my attention and now that I look back at my charting I avg around 8-9 days which is not long enough :(. So I'm making an appt to get checked out next week. I can still hope that this phase will last over 10days. It's just a relief to know that I'm at least ovulating....that strip made me so happy. Has anyone heard about vitamin B6 to help with short luteal phases? I read a bit about it and was thinking about trying it. Has anyone had a personal experience with this?

You can get it from 2 places online. The place I got it was from the site www.early-pregnancy-tests.com. I love the site. They have lots of ttc products. You can also get it on ebay. It's the same price as the website and I think sold by the same company. Either way its great stuff and makes trying so much easier. I think it was $17 for a box of 6 applicators. Expensive but if it works it's worth it. Good luck!

So I peed on another ovulation strip today and its darker than yesterday :).... and I think I'm feeling myself ovulate. My cervical mucus isn't super stretchy thou but I think that has to do with the pre-seed we have been using during sex and all the semen that I've had pumped into me lately haha. Oh and for anyone considering the pre-seed. I highly recommend it. It's expensive but it really helps with CM when you start to run dry from all the BDing. So I'm going to go get busy now. Wish me lots of luck and baby dust! :) Oh and happy new years and baby dust to you all!

Everything is fine now, everyone! It was just a difference of opinion and ja2000 and I have apologized to one another. It's just a hard night for everyone, emotions are running high, but it's all fine now. Let's all just learn from this and try to respect one another.

And yes, ja2000 has a lot of valuable information. She's just going through a rough patch and a lot can be miscommunicated and mis-interpreted on forums. Everyone just got a little hot under the collar. Let's just forgive, forget, and move on! :-)

I have 100% respect for her opinion, as I do for every other person that posts on here, but just because she feels that someone is wrong, doesn't mean she has to lash out to them. That's the only thing I find offensive about her behavior, her advice, like that of njeosys is good and honest, it's an "opinion". If someone's facts aren't the same as what you know, or the same as your source, ignore it. These women will read on, see both opinions, or however many, and make thier own choice in the end.
I don't think anyone on here wants to be right over anyone else, and shouldn't keep arguing over it, that's all I'm trying to say. Both of these women have given facts, and stuff they have researched, and it's stuff I never ever would have known, and I consider myself knowledgeable. I think the main thing is if wannabamommy got the info or opinion she was looking for, and if this has given her some insight, no matter who it comes from.

I did not find anything offensive from ja2000 -- just my 2 cents. All great points and opinions. Please respect where she is coming from -- I've found her input incredibly valuable.

I am not the one that has resorted to name calling. I agree I do think njeosys gives excellent advice, in fact she has given me some. However, my opinion, which I have discussed with more than one doctor is that it takes longer than 3 days for an egg to implant, and that a womans luteal phase has to be at least ten days to support pregnancy. IF you are going to give advice, you should make sure the information is correct, that is backed up from medical evidence. I am not insisting I am right, I am not a doctor, but like I said no doctor has ever told me 3 days to implant. A really good website thats actually follows the journey from ovulation, to fertilization, to implantation, and so on is Nova's Lifes Greatest Miracle. You can watch it on Realplayer or Quicktime....good stuff

I know we don't people being attacked on here for their opinions, but lashing back EVERYTIME someone posts thiers, and insisting you're right over them, is childish and ridiculous! Njeosys gives excellent advice, and ALOT of women here trust her insight, so you really need to just back off and give her opinion. Nobody on here is a freakin' doctor, and neither are you, so stop contradicting everything she says. This forum is for women who are looking for support and advice from others that have been thru these situations, or know someone who has. Grow up, and find a chat room where you can argue all day long!!!

I do not feel that anyone is under attack in this forum. As you are probably well aware, there are lots of websites that post false information out there. Me personally, I would much rather take advice from my own physician, actually from many physicians, then from a website. I have also read that it takes 3 days to implant, however there is really no medical evidence to back this up. In fact, the uterus had to have adequate time after ovulation to prepare for the egg to implant, if not the egg will not be able to implant therefore resulting in an early miscarriage. I know how frustrating it can be to hear so many different things. I am currently 29 weeks pregnant, but I also have suffered from two miscarriages because of this exact reason. I am not trying to be critical or judgemental of anyone opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own. But, like I said I know what it is like to get your hopes up about something that is not entirely correct.

Well, actually, in this situation I've never heard of short luteal phase. It's definitely something I'm going to be looking into in more depth. I appreciate information when my character and judgment isn't attacked. As far as the crisis preg. center, we don't usually get asked questions about this. It's more like, "Can I get pregnant from oral sex?" and other real strange questions.

When does implantation of the fertilized egg happen?

The egg becomes fertilized with a sperm within 12 hours after ovulation, usually in the outer portion of the fallopian tube.
It then travels down the fallopian tube, increasing its size along the way. In the fallopian tube it becomes the zygote and doubles to two cells, four cells, then eight cells and becomes the "morula."
As the morula enters the uterine cavity it's called a "blastocyst."
Implantation happens when the fertilized egg (blastocyst) attaches to the uterine wall and starts producing the pregnancy hormone hCG.
Based on a study published in 1999 implantation happens on average 9.1 days after ovulation with a range of 6-12 days.
In 84% of pregnancies implantation happened between days 8 and 10 after ovulation. There was an increase of miscarriages when implantation happened later::The rate of early pregnancy loss was 13% when implantation happened by day 9, it rose to 26% with implantation on day 10 after ovulation, it rose to 52% if implantation was on day 11 after ovulation, and to 82% if implantation was later than 11 days after ovulation.
