Took Conner to the ER today

So today around noon I noticed that Conners right eye was watery, goopy and swollen. I called the On call doc and she said not to worry about. It continued to get worse, and then he had a few bouts of diahrrea(sp). So I decided to take him to the ER because I couldn't get ahold of my doc and I don't trust on call's opinion to be honest.

So we went in...he weighs 9lbs 2 ounces so he gained..whoohoo!

BUT

His eye....uhg, my poor baby has pink eye. I have to put eye ointment in 4 times a day. As for the diahrrea(sp) she said to keep an eye on it, that he may have a virus running it's course. Other than that.....he is okay.

Thanks ladies! I do think it's pink eye lol...I woke up and now my right eye is watery, and itches. It didnt get goopy like Conner's just yet...but UHG! His eye on the other hand look sooo much better, it isn't weeping anymore, and it doesn't get goopy. So maybe the ointment for his eye is helping.

I am also doing warm compresses to help with swelling.

my son has had a sty in his eye for the last 9 months, he see's an eye specialist at the end of the month to see if they can make an incision in it and let it drain, i know how heart breaking it can be to think about something like this....on the other hand DS says it only itches and his peds. says that it shouldn't cause him any harm so im hoping for the best and the best to you as well!!

ohhhh, and another thing you can do is a warm compress (warm cloth over his eye 2-4 times per day 15 minutes each)

best of luck!!

Poor baby I hope he feels better! :( Aspen had a clogged duct when she was a baby as well. The medicine that they prescribed him shouldn't do any harm and will help to clear it up if it is a clogged duct. Best thing to do is gently massage it so that if it is a clogged duct you can break all the stuff in there. There are some internet guides that should show you how to do it.

Thats what im worried about lol. His eye is not pink at all! But the ER doc is declaring it as pink eye or cunjunctivitis. I hope it's just a clogged duct, but in all honesty I wish he wasn't going through this at all lol. I love my baby and I dont want to see him in pain at all.

Hopefully it will look better in a few days.

Brayden had that happen with his eye but they said it was just a clogged tear duct and to clean it with clean cloth with warm water a few times a day and it went away about a week later... I hope he feels better!!
